Pros: cheap, works fast to help control spots and keep them from developing as well as fading out red marks. Cons: sticky Bottom Line: this little jar of raw organic honey has been my savior. i am amazed at how well it works to help my skin get back to normal. i haven't been using it all over my face, just as a spot treatment. everyone should add honey to their skin care regimen. Pros: natural, no side effects, quick results Cons: sticky Bottom Line: This stuff is borderline miraculous. I have never had results like this. I put the honey/cinnamon mixture on at bedtime, cover the area with a sheet of toilet paper to prevent it from getting on my pillows. Each morning, I am more and more amazed at how much better my skin looks on a daily basis. My scars are fading. Any new pimples stay tiny and disappear within days, and old pimples heal within days too. BUT, you MUST use raw honey (not just the organic kind) and your MUST add cinnamon (which somehow has a synergistic effect). Raw honey is a miracle worker: builds collagen, fights free radicals, draws in moisture. Its been my lifesaver with acne, but it supposedly fights wrinkles too (especially good for those of us suffering from adult acne). Pros: cheap, natural, actually works ! Cons: can be very messy Bottom Line: I have been using a honey mask every day and my skin is really improved! My mom and boyfriend have both said my skin looks great, even though I still have a few scars (i think they are healing, somewhat slowly). I usually use honey + cinnamon, but if I get a pimple that is swollen I add nutmeg to the mix (i find it really helps with inflammation). If I have a recently popped pimple I'll add some lemon juice to help kill bacteria (so it doesn't spread to create more pimples). I have used the lemon/honey/cinnamon/nutmeg all over my face, but often use that as a spot treatment as it can be a little harsh. My skin has been super smooth and I've only gotten 1 new pimple since I started this (and it healed extra fast). I will definitely continue! This might not be for everyone, but give it a try! Pros: Smells awesome moisture! cheap and leaves skin feeling smooth soft, makes bad acne shrink much quicker than anything else i've used so far Cons: messy and a little time consuming Bottom Line: I usually start by washing my face with a goat milk based soap, cuz it helps with scars and it's nice to my skin, then i exfoliate with something like St. Ive's peach face wash, that takes away any dead skin from past acne scars and helps them fade fast too. Then I boil some water, sit with a towel over my head in the steam for a bit to open my pores nice and big and then I spread a tablespoon of honey, olive oil (extra virgin) and an egg yoke on my face and leave it... usually as long as I can (im short on time usually) Doesn't take much longer than half an hour I don't think, to do all this carefully the first time. Pros: Helps soften acne scars and improves skin tone Cons: messy Bottom Line: I have a reddish tint to my face because of acne and the scars, and immediately after using the mask my face appears lighter and even in tone. I mix it with a few squirts of lemon juice, a little cinnamon, and dry quaker oatmeal. The mixture of all of those work great. I haven't been using organic honey though, but after reading this post I will definately start! I would only use it like 3-4 times a week. Too much of it might actually not be so good. Pros: This works for me like just about nothing else does. Honey is antiseptic and, for me, really seems to both help new zits from forming and also make existing zits go away quickly. Cons: A bit messy. Bottom Line: After cleansing, I take raw honey, add a drop of lavender essential oil (optional) and spread on my face for 15 minutes, then wash off with warm water. Afterwards don't wash again, but then moisturize etc. I've tried MANY products and this is one of the easiest, cheapest, and most effective. Pros: A natural product full of antioxidants, great for retaining moisture, and sweet. Cheap, and a little goes a long way. Cons: Sticky. Bottom Line: I start my facial regimen with a little honey. I keep it on for about 30min, longer if I get distracted. I then use it a cleanser, rinsing with water. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean without any of the side affects of regular cleanser.
