I wanted to try getting a professionally administered chemical peel for my acne, and the doctor recommended glycolic acid. My skin is quite oily and it is not sensitive. The peel did nothing. My skin didn't peel or dry out, and it didn't reduce acne in any detectable way. About a month later I got a stronger glycolic acid peel, and still nothing.

It seems that glycolic acid is incredibly mild, but also ineffective.

Glycolic saved my face! I use a 20% glycolic lotion every night. Even when it's a relative "strong" percent, it just leaves skin a bit red after u use it, does not burn a lot. Leaves skin so smooth and with less red marks. I love it!

This stuff works a treat if you use it right. Apply a very thin layer with a fan brush for around 8 minutes, once a week for about 9 weeks.. to remove the peel with no burn/sting use bi carb soda with warm water. You WILL notice the difference!

I bought 35ml about 6 months ago and I still have half left!

For me, this was the one and only treatment i found made any effect on my redmarks. After one treatment i didnt notice anything, but then after about the 3rd, my skin was smoother and my redmaks had faded somewhat. This is a treatment that needs patience though, as you can only do one peel a week. Its well worth your while if you have redmarks though.

I have had two treatments and already I am noticing great changes. Smoothbeam is going to work as well as you want it to, if you think it won't make a difference you're right. If you think it will you're right. Positive thinking goes a long way.

I liked this treatment. You don't see major results right away because you need to keep it up for a bit. I am also using a good face wash that works wonderfully- institut' DerMed Anti-Bac Acne Cleanser. I think the high-end spas know what they are doing when it comes to Acne treatment. I am going for another peel next week, then I will hopefully move on to micro-dermabrasion. Even after one peel I see a difference in my acne scars!
