| Pros | best resurfacing ever without a lot of downtime - it must be done 3 weeks apart for 4-5 treatments for best results |

| Bottom line | It is nine days after my first treatment and I am distraught so far at the results. I had it done for minor acne scarring and chicken pox scars. The rest of my skin had been clear since coming off Roaccutane 11 months ago. Anyway, I expected the swelling, redness and dryness but not for this long and I certainy didn't expect the major acne breakout i am going through and for my cheeks to feel rough to touch still. I called my derm at day 7 and she gave me Bactrim to try and calm the breakout. I have a big social weekenc this weekend so I hope things improve by then as I can't even put makeup on at the moment as no matter how much Cetaphil I put on it still feels dry and makeup looks cakey. i have about 11 whiteheads on my chin and lots of red bumps and I can't go out as I don't want to pcick them so that they don't scar but I can't face people looking like this!! HOpefully when this horrible stage passes I still might be happy with the results but I don't see it yet!! |

| Bottom line | I just had my first Fraxel treatment 5 days ago. The first 2 days my face was swollen, and I peeled for 2 days. And after 4 days you couldn't tell that I had anything done. It is a great treatment. I have already began to see results. I had moderate acne scarring. And the results are fantastic. My skin is tighter, softer to the touch, and my scars are starting to fade. Love the Fraxel!! |

| Pros | Saw immediate reduction of pores on 2nd treatment, 1st got rid of brown sun spots on face and chin. Skin has less congestion. Large brown spot on face has not come back. |

| Cons | Hurts, but the results are worth it. 1st treatment, I was swollen for 3 days. Less the next treatments. Must use sunscreen on a daily basis in a sunny climate and I have olive skin that never used to burn. |
| Bottom line | Make sure a Board Certified M.D. performs the procedure, not a medi-spa. M.D.s have a lot of follow-up. I have gone to this M.D. many times in the last 20 years. Products given to me to use were great in moisturizing and helping skin heal. |

| Pros | My skin feels softer, smoother, pores appear smaller. The light in the laser gives off heat and cleared up all of the bacteria under my skin and active acne. My "poc" mark on my forehead is lighter. Not gone, but looks better after 1 treatment. |

| Cons | I was expecting a lot of pain but only felt pain in certain areas. (jaw line and temples...OUCH!) Afterwards I was red. I was a little swollen right after but not enough to stay indoors. |
| Bottom line | Bottom line, the pain factor all depends on you. Many people have said it was so awful and I went in thinking I would die. If you've had laser hair removal, you can do THIS. My Med-Spa had a really great after treatment gel and that helped with the "heat" and "reddness" afterwards. I've only done 1 treatment and already feel it was a positive. I have 2 more to go and can't wait to see how much better my skin gets by the end. So, if you can afford it, do it. Just make sure you find someone who knows what they're doing. Sounds like there are a lot of uneducated Dr's out there performing this treatment. |

| Bottom line | The doctor (reputable) did not say there were any cons and the nurse said individuals need 4 treatments and should see results the 3rd or 4th treatment. When I finsihed the 3rd I saw nothing and she said probably not till 6 weeks after the 4th. Still nothing. I went for the final visit after finishing the laser and the doctor said he saw some improvement on the computer image and that I would most likely need 4 more treatments. I felt my money was stolen the first time and they wanted more to weigh down their pocketbooks. I am single, work very hard for my money and this was a waste!!!! |

| Pros | well i had several issues such as acne scaring, seb derm, rosacea going into the treatments. i did 3 treatments with both the pulse dye laser and fraxel. the chronic irritation to my skin has definetly subsided and overall texture has improved. |

| Cons | unfortunately i was reviewing some pictures of myself that were taken outdoors with plenty of sunlight and guess what i noticed when i zoomed it on the photos?...holes in my face that "were not" there before i had laser treatment. |
| Bottom line | it has been 6 months since my intial treatment and i was satisfied overall until i saw these recent photos. i was skeptical about getting laser done because the technology is relatively new and most doc's, and other practioners had mentioned any negativitiy about the results. this concerned me but i still went through with it out of desperation. i don't what to say. i mean most people probably don't even notice these tiny holes but my god, i wish they would have said this was a potential side effect. |

| Cons | as some others have said, I had a terrible cyctic acne breakout that lasted two full horrible months!! Also ended up with broken capillaires where the tech was too agressive near by eye areas |
| Bottom line | Did not reduec any scarring, but ended up with lots of new scars from terrible post op break out. Noone wrarned me this could happen, but when I called to tell them, they said "oh yeah people have been having problems with that" and gabe me an antibiotic (which did not work) THis laser is not worth the money and you could end up with worse scarring problems BEWARE! |
