| Pros: | The swelling was only 2 or 3 days. |
| Cons: | It hurts very bad, I now have spots that were not there before, no changes in scars except they look worse |
| Bottom Line: | The doctor (reputable) did not say there were any cons and the nurse said individuals need 4 treatments and should see results the 3rd or 4th treatment. When I finsihed the 3rd I saw nothing and she said probably not till 6 weeks after the 4th. Still nothing. I went for the final visit after finishing the laser and the doctor said he saw some improvement on the computer image and that I would most likely need 4 more treatments. I felt my money was stolen the first time and they wanted more to weigh down their pocketbooks. I am single, work very hard for my money and this was a waste!!!! |

| Pros: | well i had several issues such as acne scaring, seb derm, rosacea going into the treatments. i did 3 treatments with both the pulse dye laser and fraxel. the chronic irritation to my skin has definetly subsided and overall texture has improved. |
| Cons: | unfortunately i was reviewing some pictures of myself that were taken outdoors with plenty of sunlight and guess what i noticed when i zoomed it on the photos?...holes in my face that "were not" there before i had laser treatment. |
| Bottom Line: | it has been 6 months since my intial treatment and i was satisfied overall until i saw these recent photos. i was skeptical about getting laser done because the technology is relatively new and most doc's, and other practioners had mentioned any negativitiy about the results. this concerned me but i still went through with it out of desperation. i don't what to say. i mean most people probably don't even notice these tiny holes but my god, i wish they would have said this was a potential side effect. |

| Cons: | as some others have said, I had a terrible cyctic acne breakout that lasted two full horrible months!! Also ended up with broken capillaires where the tech was too agressive near by eye areas |
| Bottom Line: | Did not reduec any scarring, but ended up with lots of new scars from terrible post op break out. Noone wrarned me this could happen, but when I called to tell them, they said "oh yeah people have been having problems with that" and gabe me an antibiotic (which did not work) THis laser is not worth the money and you could end up with worse scarring problems BEWARE! |

| Pros: | Can't think of any at the moment |
| Cons: | Pain, expensive, itching, discoloration, sensitive skin, and swelling. |
| Bottom Line: | I have had moderate acne throughout my late teens which has left me with scaring now in my 30's. I have always wanted to improve my scars. When I heard about fraxel I was excited there was room for improvement. I have had my first treatment about 3 weeks ago. The first 3 days I had swollen up severely and had the appearance of extremely bad sunburn. It has now been 3 weeks later; I haven't noticed any improvements to my skin. I feel my skin is now more sensitive than ever. I seem to have a pinkish tone rather than an olive tone, which is my natural color. I was out in the sun yesterday for only about 4 hours and now have moderate sunburn. I had never been this sensitive in the sun before. I'm also feeling very dry and itchy all the time. I hope this one treatment has not damage my skin long-term. With all the discomfort and expenses I would not recommend this treatment. Please consider this posting before going through with the treatment; I would hate to see someone share the regret. |

| Pros: | Some pros - smaller pores, rolling scars appear less deep (but in no means are gone) |
| Cons: | Please do not believe that this laser is risk free! I had my last one (out of 4) done six months ago. Desperately trying to help cystic acne scars on chin. Dr used a deep setting for those and a lesser setting for the rest of my face (more) |
| Bottom Line: | to eliminate some traces of hyperpigmentation (melasma). Now, I have a reddish brown mask that is not fading. What's worse is it's not even uniform. Along with the mask are white, blotchy patches. Below my eyes there is now a not-so uniform depressed, u shaped brown line where he started the laser with each pass. Bottom line -- Fraxel II completely ruined the pigment of my face and now I'm forever doomed to wear heavy concealer from the moment I wake up in the morning...ALWAYS. The subtle improvement in acne scarring was absolutely not worth a permanent mask. Nothing is. |

| Pros: | after 1 treatment i have improved melasma, smaller pores, overall improved skin tone. a good dr is a must. stay in close touch with any problems. |
| Cons: | subjective. it wasn't that painful, i've had worse. i had 1 day down and went to work, peeling, swelling and all. i didn't die. acne can be treated if needed. |
| Bottom Line: | after 20 years of suffering from melasma and acne scars, i have been thru the gambet of treatments. peels, dermabrasions, ipl, creams, pastes, arrogant drs by the score. one even told me to learn how to wear makeup. you have to have "realisitic" expectations. you can't expect perfection, there is no such thing. as to down time, i had alot of swelling and redness, peeling. very little break out. i work out in the public, my face gets looked at and reacted to all the time. i'm use to being started at:( though i hate it, there it is. there was no hiding the swelling and peeling, laugh, get over it, i'm doing this for me, screw the public and their opinions. when they ask about my sun burn, i tell them the truth. BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE. that is how i deal with my scarred face. that has also scarred my soul for so many years. there is no perfection, only improvment. 2 treatments to go, after which any acne scarring left, will be filled. dr recommended obagi along with fraxel.very effecti |

| Pros: | Skin looks and feels great after 1 treatment. |
| Cons: | Not cheap. Minor break out. |
| Bottom Line: | Had my first treatment 7 days ago and cannot believe the improvement. Skin is smooth, pores minimised and definitely improvement on shallow boxcar scars. Expected much more down time, was red for 2 days with peeling for about 2 days and broke out a little but cleared up super fast and completely worth it for the immediate results. Did not find the experience painful at all (used numbing cream for 1.5 hours before). My suggestion is find a reputable dermatologist and you can't go wrong. |

| Pros: | Worked very well... the face lift was a bonus. I got malasia at pre menopause. only had time for one session before moving out of state.. it worked great!!! It is now 3 years later and more malasia has come out. I will have Dr Ramero do it again! |
| Cons: | hurst like hell!!! BUT... one hou of pain has gotten me many, many compliments for 3 years! |
| Bottom Line: | Make sure your doctor has taken top notch classes. My Dr took classes from the inventors... went to a lot of trouble to learn from the best. It paid off! |
