Flaxseed oil has almost completely cleared my skin. The key is to take enough of it. I used to take 4 capsules a day and had only mild improvement. Now I take a tablespoon of the liquid kind (14 grams). I mix it with yogurt and can barely taste it. It works by thinning out the oily sebum which reduces clogged pores. I found out about it on [link removed]. Its a really good website if you want to read up on natural remedies for all kinds of stuff.

since coming off Dianette BCP have been supplementing with Evening Primrose Oil and Flaxseed oil to regulate hormones. From previous expereriences of coming off the pill I get cystic outbreaks within 3 months. This time round so far so good, have been off the pill for 4 months and fingers-crossed no painful spots yet (but still get spots though not as bad- whiteheads and go v.quickly) and periods are as regular as when on the pill. My advice is try it, what do you have to lose?

OMG! This flax seed oil REALLY works. I have had terrible breakout since last September so much so my whole face was covered with big & small acne. starting November, I tried Dan's regimn point to point for two months, but didn't seem to be working like it did to other ppl. Early Febuary i still had many acne though mostly 80% clear, then I remembered I had started eating flax seed oil in mid January. That's it. Acne went only because of the oil. To prove it i took the risk and stopped the regimn completely. And i still haven't broke out(in late march).
there's nothing like it.
Give it a try, it's natural, besides our body needs Omega 3 fatty acid because it cann't make it itself.
I also use glycolic acid cream 10% so that pores can stay clear. on top of that Aveeno's Positively Radient SPF 15.
I am planning to use aloe vera gel to clear up the marks.

Better than nothing. I took it in capsule form for six months (2 capsules morning, 2 at night), then ran out and went two weeks without taking any. During the six months I was taking it, acne was reduced, but not eliminated. During the two weeks without, my spots doubled in number. I just started taking it again, hopefully it'll cut the number of spots in half again.

I have to take Flaxsee oil for health reasons, not for acne however I have found it easy to take when shaken into a can of slim fast. Makes it so much easier. The oil is not tasty at all and the capsules are not recommended. I have to have the oil 3 times a week. Just thought that if anyone is having trouble eating it this tip would help. Sue

I have been using flaxseed oil for about 3 months now, when I first started using it I didnt notice a big difference but as time went on I noticed it did help. I take 1 tbsp a day and also apply it to my skin at night (usually). Lately ive been tough on moola so I havent been able to purchase flaxseed oil these last 2 weeks and omg ive noticed my skin going downhill, basically its breaking out more and its taking really long for my breakouts to heal. The only thing different in the last couple weeks is lack of flaxseed. Wether this works as a major improvement in your skin or not it is really really good for you and for me it does make a difference in my skin.

I've been taking flaxseed oil as a supplement for over a half a year now only because it's known to combat heart disease. I had no idea this had ever been considered a acne remedy, even though I have moderate cystic acne. And during my time on this supplement, I have not noticed any improvement with my acne. Seriously, if you're thinking of treating your acne, do the research and find out what really causes acne (unstable hormones and/or and overactive sebum production in sweat glands). Once you do, you'll realize trying stuff like this as a permanent solution is a complete waste of time.

I'm 40, and have had acne for years. I've tried everything, with different degrees of success. Lately I've been putting ground flax seed on my food, about 2 tablespoons a day. I haven't noticed any new breakouts in about 2 weeks, which is unusual. The only thing different if the flax seed...Anyway I was so curious I googled "flax seed and acne" and found this site. Well anyway, so far so good. I'm hoping it will help right through my pms acne as well.
