Better than nothing. I took it in capsule form for six months (2 capsules morning, 2 at night), then ran out and went two weeks without taking any. During the six months I was taking it, acne was reduced, but not eliminated. During the two weeks without, my spots doubled in number. I just started taking it again, hopefully it'll cut the number of spots in half again.

I have to take Flaxsee oil for health reasons, not for acne however I have found it easy to take when shaken into a can of slim fast. Makes it so much easier. The oil is not tasty at all and the capsules are not recommended. I have to have the oil 3 times a week. Just thought that if anyone is having trouble eating it this tip would help. Sue

I have been using flaxseed oil for about 3 months now, when I first started using it I didnt notice a big difference but as time went on I noticed it did help. I take 1 tbsp a day and also apply it to my skin at night (usually). Lately ive been tough on moola so I havent been able to purchase flaxseed oil these last 2 weeks and omg ive noticed my skin going downhill, basically its breaking out more and its taking really long for my breakouts to heal. The only thing different in the last couple weeks is lack of flaxseed. Wether this works as a major improvement in your skin or not it is really really good for you and for me it does make a difference in my skin.

I've been taking flaxseed oil as a supplement for over a half a year now only because it's known to combat heart disease. I had no idea this had ever been considered a acne remedy, even though I have moderate cystic acne. And during my time on this supplement, I have not noticed any improvement with my acne. Seriously, if you're thinking of treating your acne, do the research and find out what really causes acne (unstable hormones and/or and overactive sebum production in sweat glands). Once you do, you'll realize trying stuff like this as a permanent solution is a complete waste of time.

I'm 40, and have had acne for years. I've tried everything, with different degrees of success. Lately I've been putting ground flax seed on my food, about 2 tablespoons a day. I haven't noticed any new breakouts in about 2 weeks, which is unusual. The only thing different if the flax seed...Anyway I was so curious I googled "flax seed and acne" and found this site. Well anyway, so far so good. I'm hoping it will help right through my pms acne as well.

I have been using the capsules but they don't work great. Is the liquid really that much better than the capsules?

I love this stuff, it has been excellent for my skin. I take 1 tablespoon a day in my yogourt and also apply it to my face everynight. If my face is dry or irritated from winter or a new face wash or whatever circumstance I try to apply it twice a day or whenever my skin starts feeling extra irritated or over dry, however if you have plans to go out or put on makeup or both I wouldnt reccomend applying this beforehand , its more of a stay at home or nightly treatment. However washing it off is an option to but Ifind it to work best when left on over a longer period of time and applied in generous amounts.

had been taking flaxseed capsules after working out to help reduce acid buildup in my muscles and read it could help with acne too so i have been taking 2 tablespoons a day for the last 2 weeks. it didnt do anything for me :-( . i just started the clear skin regime a day or two ago and im continuing the falxseed oil so hopefully the two compined will show great results for me. i dont have serious acne, but serious enough to hurt my confidence and self esteem.

I started taking 1 tablespoon morning and night a month ago as a supplement for my workout routine. Besides being a great source of healthy fats, I have to say that my skin has really shown improvement. Washing my face today my skin felt so smooth and looked glowing. I used to have tons of tiny whiteheads all over my face and very patchy, sensitive cheeks. I do have one zit under my chin but it is that time of the month and nothing can really stop me from breaking out then =( Anyways, I give flax oil thumbs up. Take with a chaser of diet soda and the taste is tolerable. I use Barlean's Organic Flaxseed Oil from Sprouts Market here in AZ. It is fresh and slightly nutty tasting. If your oil is fishy tasting get a refund because it's going bad.
