Pros: I've heard a lot of good things about Flaxseed and starting taking it in addition to Red Yeast Rice to help lower my not-to-high cholesterol. Cons: A few years ago I tried the dried flax but broke out with red bumps on my face & body, figured I was allergic.Recently I tried Flaxseed Oil Capsules for past 2 months & again, red pimple like bumps on arms & legs, cystic pimples on chin won't go away Bottom Line: So, I guess Flaxseed is not for me. I really need the Omega 3s but I can't tolerate these under-the-skin pimples that won't surface or go away! Help!! I've tried everything under the sun to clean my face and dried it out in the process -- but maybe now stopping the Flax, hopefully all will clear up. I'll let you know . . . Pros: This product hasn't helped me any. Cons: This supplement breaks me out TERRIBLY, no matter if it's the liquid, capsules, grains, etc. I've tried them all as know it's advertised to be "good" for the skin but it's not for everyone. I'm 40* and have skin like a teenager again now. Bottom Line: I will never use again Recommended: No Usage: renee has used this item for a few weeks. Pros: Helped me to be more "regular"! Cons: Almost immediate breakouts on face. That's why I came here to check out a possible connection between the flax and acne. Bottom Line: After reading some comments here, apparently it works differently for each person. I don't know if I will continue taking it. Pros: Possible overall health benefits Cons: broke out worse Bottom Line: started taking flax to get rid of some pesky spots around my chin. After two weeks i started getting weird cystic acne on my back and arms (never gotten any there before). I was taking 6 1000mg pills a day. Pros: It is wonderful- absolutely wonderful for your skin tone. I am one of the most critical people I know and my skin impresses me more every day now that I consume flaxseed oil 2-3 times a day- I hear the term "glowing" regularly from everyone around me Cons: Innitial breaking out. Bathroom runs :P Bottom Line: You might experience breaking out, especially in the beginning- if your health is in even moderately poor condition and you eat fast food regularly, don't expect this to be a wonder drug. Adding something wonderful to your sh*t-filled system is like throwing a toilet bleach tablet down the sewer.. not very effective and it certainly messes with the chemical levels of everything now doesn't it. Flaxseed oil is a potent detoxifyer that unless ur contributing to it's benefits by 1. drinking a sh*t ton of water and 2. working out (increases circulation), you are simply wasting your time. Especially if you want it to help your acne because those things are essential to begin with duh. Detoxification takes place at the pores, thusly if you're already full of crap it's gonna come out your pores- your diet is everything. So get good with it and make miracles happen! Pros: Flaxseed Oil helped reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It made my skin much softer and I can tell a difference in the condition of my hair. I think it's great! Cons: None Bottom Line: Use flaxseed oil in capsule form. They are easy to take and will make a positive difference in your skin. Pros: My mother likes it but I don't Cons: The first day I started taking the seed my face felt really oily and weird. The second day my face broke out even more. I know that I should continue to take this product because it may be good for me but I can't bare any more pimples. Bottom Line: I didn't like it but maybe it will work for you. Pros: All Natural, Great Flavor, Boosts of energy, Healthy Bowels, Cancer fighter...Omega-3's!!! Cons: Seeds get stuck in my teeth...lol...big deal, right? Bottom Line: Cleared up my SEVERE to MODERATE acne. 30 Years old and suffered with ACNE since I was 16. Who knew that acne is from within? Doctors will NEVER tell you to change their diet because if we all ate better & truly focused on how certain foods cleared up our acne and helped us become more healthy, then doctors and pharmaceutical companies would CRUMBLE & go out of business!!! Pros: I have helped my husband who has diabetes by making this and eating it with him. Works great to lower his sugar but I look ugly Cons: I am so broken out that I don't know what to do. I just started thinking what is different??? THE FLAX!!!!!! Bottom Line: I think I will stop eating it with him. Or maybe cut out all other types of oil for a week and see if it is the mix that is causing the break outs. Recommended: No Usage: Mary has used this item for a few months.
