Pros -healthy for body
-helps with protein synthesis (if you work out)
-healthy nails and hair, and skin
Cons -can cause break outs if certain ingredients are present
Bottom line when I hurd about this stuff I decided id give it a shot and so I started low and didnt notice a difference, but when I upped it to 10 pills a day I broke out like crazy around my mouth and other places. I latter found out that fish oil with oleic acid and lenoleic acid should be avoided because they cause breakouts.
sure enuf, when I checked the bottle one of the non medical ingredients was oleic acid, so that is likely why I broke out so bad, and probably why there are so many people on this forum talking about bad experiences with fish oil. CHECK THE LABEL, MAKE SURE THERE IS NO OLEIC/LENOLIC ACID. it will break you out!
I have now switched to different pills and they are working great, so be sure to read your label closely.

Pros + Clearer, smoother skin.
+ Shinier hair (my hair is usually dull).
+ My joints seem to click less... I normally sound like a defective ball joint doll for some reason.
Cons - Icky aftertaste.
- Remembering to take them consistently!
Bottom line Overall, I'd recommend people try fish oil if they haven't given it a bash yet - you never know until you try! I've found it has helped me, and in combination with zinc, it's had a tremendous impact on the overall condition of my skin, not just my acne. My skin is softer and smoother, and my complexion has evened out a fair bit.

It's difficult to remember to take them, but I've found that setting two alarms on my phone is enough of a reminder. The fishy burps afterward aren't very sexy but if you take deodorized fish oil from a bottle you might be alright. I've gotten used to it, mostly.

You generally won't see improvement for a little while but be patient, you're doing your body lots of favours by taking fish oil, especially if you're like me and you don't like to eat seafood.

Pros Hair become softer, probably helped my heart/internal organs although, of course, I can't say that for sure
Cons Increased whiteheads and clogged pores
Bottom line Consumed 4g a day (5 800 mg capsules) for about a week after having taken one a day for about a year. May be good for overall health, but certainly didn't noticeabley help my skin. Although it may be a coincidence, I also did get far more clogged pores (some of which became inflamed and moved to whiteheads) than before ramping up fish oil consumption.

Pros -Made skin/body healthier
Cons -Remembering to take them
-Caused stomach problems
Bottom line It didn't make any difference to my acne, though my health did get better. If you would like to improve your body, I recommend this, but if you're looking for a over-the-counter oral acne medication, then I suggest not wasting money on this.

Pros Has helped w/ acne (inflammation,) depression, migraines, and hair is silkier
Cons You get what you pay for. Good fish oils w/out tons of garbage fillers and toxins will cost $20 - $30 (but they are more potent, and worth every penny!)
Bottom line I started fish oils a couple of years ago for acne + depression after reading about it here! I was taking it for a good long while, but slowly declined and eventually stopped. Just recently I started again, this time investing in the best quality I could find. So far I'm on day 2, and have noticed an immediate difference. My skin feels moisturized from the inside out, and seems to glow. My lips haven't been as dry/cracked. Some of my swollen pimples are already becoming smaller. My hair which is often tangly is tangle free + silky. Last but not least it really does help w/ depression!

I am using Norwegian Gold Critical Omega which was recommended by an alternative doctor. I think another one is Nordic ___ something or other. Anyway, bottom line: I really do feel health comes from the inside out, and you CAN heal your body / life / acne! YOU CAN DO IIITTT! <3

Pros helps regulate my hormones
periods are more regular
helps prevent acne
Cons Hard remembering to take them
Bottom line I started getting very bad acne a few months back. My periods also started to become very irregular. After a few months of this hell. I started taking fish oil tablets everyday, I admit it wasn't a over night change but after a month or two, I noticed my acne started to disappear and my periods were regulated to pretty much the exact day every month. Then I started to become lazy and stopped taking the fish oil tablets, after three weeks.. BAM!! 7 pimples in one week (yes, i counted) and my periods were a week late. Now back on the fish oil tablets and zits are decreasing.

Pros - Good for you
- Helps your skin
Cons - None take 2-3 a day very easy!
Bottom line I started taking fish oils 6 months ago and still had breakouts so this is not a cure but my breakouts were bareable! I would take 2-3 capsules a day. Along with my twice a day facial regimen. I didnt think it really worked until I stopped taking the fish oils. My skin is now a huge mess and I finally put together that it must be because I stopped taking my fish oils.. I really dont think it does miracles it didnt clear my face up completely but it stopped my skin from getting really bad like it is now. I get bad face/chest acne and it was under control until I stopped taking it. So if your going to try it and it works you need to keep taking it everyday.

Pros Clear skin/complexion
Noticeable reduction is blackhead or Sebaceous filaments
Cons Left two small cyst
Bottom line I considered this supplement a double edge sword. I've read other reviews regarding their problems with cyst after consuming fish oil so therefore I was kind of expecting it. Two small cyst that hurts minimally when touched, but it wasn't too bad at all. Now on the other side the blackheads or Sebaceous filaments (not sure which) is reduced significantly. And my face complexion has really beginning to glow. All I did was taking one pill a day for 2 days. I'm very sensitive to stuff like medicine and supplement, I don't know if that got to do with anything. I probably try 1 pill a week. LOL. I would def. give this a try and take it slow and see what happens. Ex. don't take 5-10 pills at first.

I also use Mama M2 20% lotion.

Pros Many other health benefits! (Heart, eye, metabolism, and even shiny hair!)
Cons If not properly made, can become rancid, negatively affecting health.
Bottom line I'm rating this based on what I've heard, not my own experience because I have only been taking these for a week. The reason why I'm posting, is to let readers know that I read some interesting things on several web pages on Fish Oil. I read that if not capsuled with an antioxidant, such as Vitamin E, the pills can become rancid, and in a shorter period of time than you might think! They should at the very least be made with d-alpha Tocopherol which although less effective (and less expensive) should prevent the pills from becoming rancid. I suggest spending a bit more in order to ensure protection from rancid oil. Just a warning, because it sounds fishy lol. Just be sure they are also purified, and contain deep sea fish, or have the fish specified.
Also, Fish oil just makes sense to me because products that reduce inflammation in the skin are generally good for acne. Many acne sufferers are prescribed anit-biotics, which work to reduce inflammation, so this makes sense.
I paid ten dollars on GNC softcaps 300mg per capsule.

Pros Skin felt softer and smoother
Acne started to clear up
Good for heart
Cons None
Bottom line I've been taking 2 pills in the morning and 2 after dinner for about a week now, and I've noticed my skin has gotten a lot better.
My skin used to be really sensitive and I would be afraid to even touch my face in fear of irritating my skin and breaking out with pimples. I've tried over the counter stuff and benzaclin, and none of it really worked. It did nothing to prevent it and I still ended up getting pimples.
After taking fish oil for about a week, I started to notice my skin looking smoother and less bumpy. Even after a week it made a huge difference. I definitely would recommend taking fish oil, it can't hurt and its good for you anyways.
