Pros: Mmmm Good for health? Cons: Nothing Bottom Line: It didnt help with my acne..Ive been taking 4000 mg GNC pills and quite expensive since its exported, its been for two weeks and nothing really happened. Pros: OMG EVERYTHING Cons: Nothing? Bottom Line: I have used just about every acne med on the market. Nothing ever worked until I went to a dermatolgist and she recomended Artic Oils Omega Pure 820, Solodyn, and Ziana gel. I started the fish oil first and it seems to be working the best. Pros: It works.... hair is shinier, skin is softer Cons: it took me almost 2 months to see result. Have to be really patient as acne does NOT develop in 1 day or 1 week. Bottom Line: Fish oil has been working really great for me. One important thing is that you have to take fish oil that is free from mercury, lead, and other contaminants. I really recommend Carlson's super omega 3. You can find it at whole food or online. It's a little bit more expensive than other brand, but it's totally worth it. I take 5-10 pills a day depending on what I ate that day. Also take Magnesium at nights or during the day. I realize that stress plays a really BIG role in acne. you can't expect your acne to go away if you are not happy, relax, and constantly in pressure even if you take 100 pills of fish oil a day. Magnesium can help you calm your body and mind. Whenever you feel stressed, remind to yourself that it will only make your acne worse, be happy instead, watch funny movies. Most cases of acne are because of stress Because of this routines, my acne went down from severe to moderate, and I'm very sure that I will be clear in at most 2 more months. Pros: Less oily skin, improvement in skin tone, decreased propensity to break out, healthier hair. Cons: None Bottom Line: It improved the overall tone of my skin and dramatically lessened the severity of breakouts. I went on 2 courses of accutane, and it worked very well, but only after I stopped the treatement and started taking fish oil did my skin achieve perfection(almost). Pros: Redness has gone away & break outs are not as severe. Skin feels softer & is not as oily. Cons: Large pills & slight indigestion. Bottom Line: I have been struggling with acne for about eleven years now. I have tried just about everything except accutane. I currently use Proactiv, a good moisturizer, & consume eight fish oil pills a day, one pro biotic, and one vitamin B complex. Most of my acne is around my chin. Any advice would be awesome. Pros: Definitely reduces inflammation, relatively cheap and side-effect free compared to similarly effective treatments. Cons: Can cause a little indigestion. Bottom Line: I have used this for a couple of weeks now and have noticed a definite reduction in the inflammation of my acne and new breakouts. No miracle cure as of yet, but definite improvement! I take about 1g of omega-3 which, compared to many people on this board, is not a lot! I will definitely up the omega-3 to at least 3g as recommended and report on any increase in benefits! Pros: Works better than anything else I've tried and is really good for you. Cons: Kind of expensive but worth it. Bottom Line: I on here earlier about how well fish oil was working for me: no more zits, pores literally oozing- I could pull the sebum out with tweezers (gross but awesome). I was really happy but just felt my sking could still look a little better so I tried the double strength fish oil and my skin is even better. These have twice the EPA and DHA as others. Again, my pores emptied even more. They are hardly visible now. My bio teacher told me that omega-3s are anti-inflammatory so maybe that has something to with it. I highly recommend this. Pros: Best thing ever!!! Reduced my oil production significantly, 100% acne-free at the moment. Also noticed that it took away the migraines I was having weekly. Cons: Sometimes produces the fish burps but I prefer that than 10 zits on my face. Bottom Line: It works!!!! and no harmful side effects. I have used everything else (except for acctuane) for the past 10 yrs trying to find a solution and I finally found it. Recommended: Yes Usage: Nyla has used this item for about a month. Bottom Line: There's acctualy a twist to this. You need to know how much of omega3 you're really getting. I know that 10plus pills a day souds kind of a lot. But the truth is that the most pills (of lets say 1000mg) only contain about 20 to 50 % of actual omega 3 (and just a percentage of that amount is DHA and EPA). READ THE LABEL! You need to get around 3 to 4g of actual omega3, so if the percentage is 30 you'll need to take at least 10 pills a day. PS: try to get relatively clean omega3, because most is produced from fish living in contained waters. Also I understand it's wise to keep the level of EPA/ DHA around 3:1. Pros: Cleared up acne within a week, no new outbreaks! Cons: Pills are large, and because I take 2 grams daily (1 gram in the am and 1 gram in the pm) thats 20 pills to take! Bottom Line: well worth it, only thing I have tried that has made a difference....so happy!
