Pros: helped reduce acne Cons: May dry skin a little but if you use a moisturizer over it you will be okay. Bottom Line: I have tried everything on the market and could not get rid of my acne. I finally went to the dermatologist and was given topical erythromycin and it has helped (using it for 6 weeks) and notice a huge improvement in my skin but I also began eating a low glycemic diet. I thought I was eating good but read up on diet and acne and believe there is a relationship between the two. I recommend everyone suffering from acne to try a low glycemic diet but still take one day to eat what you like so you don't give up completey. It was a struggle at first but I realized if I want clear skin I have to sacrafice some things. Recommended: Yes Usage: Reviewer has used this item for a few weeks. Pros: Clears up spots and keeps most of them away! Took them for about a year and was clear. Cons: I felt sick a bit after taking them, but feelings sick is better than having acne! Bottom Line: I tried all the lotions and creams out there, nothing worked... antibiotics were the next step. If you've tried them all, i'd definatly give these a go. Pros: clear up spots in a matter of weeks. Cons: stomach aches and diahrria. Bottom Line: cleared up spots for a month or 2, and then they came back thick n fast. no long term effects! stopped taking erythromycin, now on benzoyl peroxide which seems to be good. Pros: All you have to do is take a pill and you get rid of those big zits. Lowers the frequency of pimples. Cons: I still have acne, it only gets rid of some types of acne. I have to use it The Regimend, but I still have intense acne. Bottom Line: Its good, but so far I have yet to see my face to be clear of acne. If you have as bad acne as I do, this and many other applications/Medications/pills help alot. Recommended: Yes Usage: Dan has used this item for about a year. Pros: The only treatment I have ever used that has worked! I have been using it for 6 weeks and my skin is completely clear apart from the red marks left after over 10 years with acne. Cons: I am worried that it will stop working and what will happen when i come off it. Gave me a dodgy stomach for a few days but after that it was fine. Bottom Line: This is the best treatment I have ever used and is definitely worth giving a try. Its free on the nhs so there is nothing to lose and side effects are minimal. Pros: prescribed for an infected insect bite but after a few days, noticed skin had cleared, and also a cartilage piercing infection is clearing Cons: horrible stomach aches and diarrhea, also chest pains Bottom Line: as someone who's skin is not too bad and is having bad stomach reactions, i'd say its worth a try but if you experience any problems, leave well alone Recommended: Yes Usage: Cat Cat has used this item for about a week. Pros: Using it for 2 weeks,skin much improved no new spots and old ones fading..Great stuff Cons: Am dreading it becoming ineffective of all the many things Ive tried it is far and away the best..will stop using it soon maybe every few days will be enough Bottom Line: Well worth a shot even for few months relief Recommended: Yes Usage: James has used this item for a few weeks. Pros: Works well however I had to wait about 3 months before I saw any real changes Cons: Seems to work very well for about 8 weeks then I will get a break out again Bottom Line: Its most definatley better than using nothing. I dont think I will ever be free of spots and when this works it works well enough to enable me to not be paranoid for a few weeks! Pros: Works wonders on cystic acne...almost completely cleared my face for about a year. the best oral antibiotic that i ever used Cons: extreme upset stomach and GI problems are common, I felt sick a lot and both diarehea and constipation and the drug stopped working after about a year. Bottom Line: i recomend it for anyone who has tried everything but still too scared of accutane. but u will most likely feel a bit sick on this drug. Pros: Working after only a few days. Considerably less redness and acne activity. Cons: Made me a bit nauseous, but I can deal with it. Bottom Line: I am worried about long-term use. When I was younger I used tetracycline for a while. As soon as I stopped the acne returned. I imagine it will be the same with this med.
