| Pros: | Reduces redness, clears spots |
| Cons: | Dry skin in morning, greasy towards the end of the day :( Oh and it takes forever to dry - which is anoying in the morning before school. |
| Bottom Line: | When i first started using Steimycin topical solution, it really worked and my skin was practically clear in a week and was really happy with the outcome. Then my doctor prescribed me tablets (Oxyteterine?) And this mademe break out in EVEN MORE than i had in the first place. So i went back to the steimycin and it is a very slow process but you do see a gradual impovement over the weeks, i would recommend this product. Im 15 years old by the way. |

| Pros: | Erythromicin tabs - works well at taking down redness and cystic acne. Also good at reducing frequency of blackheads and whiteheads. Safe for use during pregnancy (under advice of OB)
Erythromicin topical - none |
| Cons: | Erythromicin tabs - doesnt completely take away acne. Do not see some results until about three weeks on the tabs
Erythromicin topical - for people with sensitive skin this is too strong. Severe peeling and redness. |
| Bottom Line: | My acne started flaring up again after coming off birth control pills (that contain a close cousin of spironolactone that controlled my acne)to try and become pregnant (I was on them for 10 years). (never had more than mild acne before). Started to get cystic acne on my chin after about 3 months off the pill. Had to get cortosone injections almost weekly. Then when I got pregnant, forget it! I got HORRIBLE cystic acne on my chin, severe redness everywhere and moderate acne on my cheeks. SO EMBARASSING! I tried every topical medication out there and NOTHING worked. The only thing that has worked so far is oral erythromicin (which is safe to take during pregnancy). I have been on it three weeks now and I have seen a drastic reduction in the cystic acne & redness. I still have moderate acne on the sides of my chin & on my cheeks (& scars) but nothing compared to before. My fear is that as soon as I come off of it (my doc will only keep me on it for a month at a time)it will come back. |

| Pros: | Sort of cleared up the spots on the cheaks |
| Cons: | More spots developed on sholders, back, chest, jaw line, and neck. Also has upset my stomoch completly to the extent i dont eat as much as the pain was bad and it was making me go to the toilet alot. Also scared of getting imune to anti biotics |
| Bottom Line: | not the best thing,l i would only recomend it for mild acne, however i have only got it after 9 month on some weaker things. Also the side affects arnt good. |

| Pros: | Only on day 5 of oral Emycin. Seems to be clearing up my skin, or at least preventing new breakouts. |
| Cons: | Did get some stomach pains in the first couple of days. Afraid of becoming immune to it and then breaking out worse. |
| Bottom Line: | I actually have hormonal acne. I am a 24 year old female and Diane 35 worked so well for me. But i can not take the pill any more as i have increased risk of blood clots becuase of migranes. My skin and hair both get very oily. I don't understand why my Dr is treating my hormonal acne with antibiotics. It makes no sense. I want Spironolactone!!!!!!
I will however see this through because i am getting desperate..... |

| Pros: | Seems to work well on the main 'cheek' area of the face. |
| Cons: | Needs to be used with benzol peroxide as does nothing for blackheads. Does not work on neck, back, forehead. Personally..i think im slow to respond to it. Progress is slow. Difficult adapting to light changes (dark to light). I've had chest pains. |
| Bottom Line: | Would not recommend it. Feel like i shouldn't have gone on it (6 months into it) as scared of coming off and flaring up worse than before. |

| Pros: | worked really well for the first few months, and clears up scars |
| Cons: | stomach pains |
| Bottom Line: | works well at the start, but am freaking out now that it seems to have stopped working. In australia they have prescribed me more than i was on in the Uk (3 X 400mg daily) but no help as of yet. |

| Pros: | It works for the smaller pimples, for a while you become VERY reliant on it. Its free if your'e in the UK (Good ol' NHS) |
| Cons: | It doesnt get rid of acne completely, the bacteria in your skin gets resistent to it eventually. |
| Bottom Line: | It worked for a year and at first i wasnt so dependant on it but after about a year and a half, if it ran out, within 3 dys i would have massive outbreaks so i ALWAYS had to have enough and stock up before it ran out.
However the bacteria in skin are clever and adapt to it and become resistent so it doesnt work after about 2 years.
It was nice at first and the dosage is not insanely high to the point where you have to base your life around it which is nice, but all good things come to an end. |

| Pros: | soft skin, reduced moderate acne to mild acne in 5 days |
| Cons: | very hot like my face was on fire
dry, itchy, peely
expensive if u dont get from doctor |
| Bottom Line: | use it for moderate acne and severe acne.
it has shown brillian results, i have been on it for 8 days now and 60% of my moderate acne has gone, doesnt leave scars.

| Pros: | works for a while and really gets rid of every stop until the bacteria become smarter. |
| Cons: | stops as bacteria become immune (been a user for 2 years was completely clear in the 1st and now back again) |
| Bottom Line: | its good but i wouldnt recommend it ive been on the pills for ages and now i dont know what to do, tried almost everything .. the best what i do is go on holiday and get a tan then mine are gone for about 5 months |
