Pros:This product does wonders for skin, clears up acne pretty fast, and if you use it every night, it works really well!
Cons:Sort of dries up your skin, but just moisturize daily and it shouldn't be that big of a deal (just use it at night instead of day when you can deal w/ the dryness or slight redness)
Bottom Line:For most of you that are having issues with the gel, try the 2% topical solution, it's liquid and it works so well

Pros:It did clear up most of my face only a few spots on chin/cheek none on my forehead! but didnt clear up spots on back/arms/chest/neck. its free on NHS.
Cons:they flare back up when you come off it and i seemed to sweat more on these tablets and i never used to sweat under my arms!
Bottom Line:These tablets are good esp short term but they are no long term soloution they do work but my skin still wasnt flawless and i still couldnt use products on my skin as i would flare up. My gp left me on these tablets for about 2 years although i tried to change to a different antibiotic my skin got worse so went back on these.Only problem is as soon as you come off them spots return and you build up a resistance to them.

Pros:I have used the Erythromycin 500 mg tablets for a week now which has made a bit of a difference, but not great. Basicallly now my spots still appear, with the pigmentation, although the improvement is that they do not get as imflammed as before.
Cons:None so far, apart from the fact that spots still come up.
Bottom Line:I will keep posting should there be any further changes. Prescription medication, so in the UK costs about £6 = $12

Pros:I have used it for probably about 2 months now. Worked very well initially for getting rid of whiteheads and messy spots, cleared my skin up quite well in the beginning.
Cons:It is no longer working as well and my skin is again, not as clear still barely any whiteheads but my face is full of redness and red lumps/'blotches'
Bottom Line:Not working very well for me anymore, going to see my doctor for his verdict.
Recommended:Yes
Usage:Ryan has used this item for a few months.

Pros:Skin looks better than it has in YEARS! My skin looks photoshopped in real life, it's crazy!
Cons:SEVERE drying of skin initially, PAIN, small unpleasant odour
Bottom Line:I've been taking many acne treatments for about the past 5 years, and in prescribing me this one medication, my doctor has resolved 5 years of suffering and TRANSFORMED my skin. My prescription is a combination 0.1% Tretinoin and 4% Erythromycin. It caused very VERY severe drying out of my skin (I used the word "destroyed" as an adjective many times), but it completely changed the look of my face afterwards. It caused very VERY bad drying of the skin (flaking, peeling etc...) and moisturizers BURNED when applied. But I kept at it/am VERY happy!

Anyone who tries ANY acne medication for a week or less is expecting far far too much. Acne is caused by bacteria, so you HAVE to give medication time to work/kill the bacteria. I've used the product for about 3 weeks (I usually give medications a 4 month unconditional, completely dedicated trial before I request a change) and have seen more drastic, sustained results than anything I've ever taken!

Pros:no pros yet...
Cons:dry itchy skin
Bottom Line:I'm 26 y/o. I had a bad acne back when i was 13-17 y/o. Let's just say it runs in the family. I tried alot of over the counter acne meds and washes. They only worked for a few days and back again. When I turned 18,my face started to clear up w/o any meds. So, I thought I was finally OVER it...sooner than my older brothers which at the time were still breaking out. I would breakout occasionally but nothing major. Not until early this year. I broke out pretty bad..worse than before. Went to dermatologist and was prescribed erythromycin 300mg 2x/day. It worked! but 7 months after I started breaking out again.

Now...I'm back on erythromycin and BP cream. My face is really itchy and really dry. I'm not quite sure if it's helping. My derma uped my dosage to 333mg 2x/day. I don't know..I'm losing hope..and I'm starting to get self-conscious...and I NEVER DO. that's how bad my acne is affecting me.

Pros:It's clear, dries fairly quickly, does not overdry the skin
Cons:When I put face lotion on overtop it, it like clumps into white clumps and I have to pick them off my face. It's strange.
Bottom Line:This product is not working for me at all. I used to use Duac but that lost its effectiveness so my doctor put me on 2% Erythromycin topical gel, and I've only been using it for like 5 days, but it's only made my skin worse. Should I give it time? Do any of you guys know if this is the type of medicine that makes skin worse before it gets better? I don't know what to do.

Pros:Works fast, doesn't irritate, easy to apply, GPs are very willing to prescribe.
Cons:Powdery texture once dry which doesn't mix well with some make-up & BP gels (especially DK's regimin), short expiry date means lots of repeat scripts.
Bottom Line:Brand is called Zineryt.
This is a really nice quick fix. I am using it with Spironolactone so cannot verify that this is doing the job on its own. Topicals don't reduce oilyness (spiro does that) but used regularly they can really help prevent the odd breakout. I'm happy with this product.
