| Pros: | Working after only a few days. Considerably less redness and acne activity. |
| Cons: | Made me a bit nauseous, but I can deal with it. |
| Bottom Line: | I am worried about long-term use. When I was younger I used tetracycline for a while. As soon as I stopped the acne returned. I imagine it will be the same with this med. |

| Pros: | Sometimes it dried up a couple pimples |
| Cons: | Had to keep it in the fridge, dried out my skin to the point of cracking and bleeding, and after a couple months it no longer would do anything for my pimples |
| Bottom Line: | The cream did nothing for me and hurt my skin in the long run. Try something else. |

| Pros: | After a day of taking the pills both me and my boyfriend could see an improvement in my skin. |
| Cons: | On the second day of taking the pills I started feeling sick, then I started vomiting non stop. I had to go to hospital and be given anti sickness tablets. Felt dreadful for the next day. |
| Bottom Line: | Badly disagreed with me. Adverse reactions are quite common to erythromycin when taken in pill form. Taking antibotics for a long time in pill for is not good for your body either.
However I did see some improvement within just one day, so it might have been great if I hadn't been allergic to it. |

| Pros: | pill form so easy to take has short time benifits, cleared some redness from my face free from NHS |
| Cons: | spots come straight back if stop using for a short while. i seem to sweat more when using it. can make me feel slighty sick if i take it on an empty stomach |
| Bottom Line: | Works, but not a long term solution. Probally better for mild acne or reducing redness. I find it works resonably well for me. |

| Pros: | Erythromycin cream: Worked well in the beginning, not irritating on skin. Erythromycin pills: Worked very well and also fast. |
| Cons: | Erythromycin cream: stopped working after a few months. Erythromycin pills: Had the impression that if had a negative effect on my digestion. |
| Bottom Line: | Hard to say. Just like anything else (except for Accutane) both only work while you take/use them. As soon as you are off, your acne will most likely return. As to the Erythromycin pills: It seems strange to me that my dermatologists here in Germany have said I should not take them longer than 4 Weeks, which makes it only valuable as a short term remedy for someone really suffering from their skin condition and who needs immediate help. After what I have read on this website, it seems like dermatologists in the US prescribe it to people for the duration of several months, which also seems strange to me as I had the impression of digestive problems after only a few weeks. Erythromycin cream: Seems like long term usage is not dangerous. But with me, the initial positive effect on my acne stopped after a few month. Bottom Line: Both can help you, but only for a limited period of time. Maybe good for "teenage-acne", but not for long-term/post-teen patients. ps: Both cheap (in |

| Pros: | Cleared up skin really well and within a reasonably quick period of time compared to other medication i have been on (e.g celeste contraceptive pill) |
| Cons: | Left my skin free of spots and troublesome blemishes untill my skin became resistent to the medication. |
| Bottom Line: | I have taken at least a year off erythromycin and i plan to go back on it within the next week with hope that it will start working again, as nothing has worked as well. |

| Pros: | it seems like it might be working underneath...but right now i'm still having issues on the surface of my skin...also it was very cheap! |
| Cons: | i feel like it is pushing out everything right now...i'm having problems on my forehead...but they aren't raised at all, so with make up i look fine...i just hope soon i won't even need the make up |
| Bottom Line: | i've only been taking the 250 mg tablets twice a day for about three weeks, so maybe i just need to wait a little longer. this seems to have worked for other people, considering it is the second most used antibiotic for acne. hopefully once the blemishes i have now heal, no more new ones will come |

| Pros: | Cleaared about 70 percent of my cystic acne. |
| Cons: | Gastrointestinal distress. For the first time in many years, there is a delay in my menstral period. Dont know if it is assoicated with the oral med. Ihave been on it for 3 weeks. |
| Bottom Line: | I am 40 and have suffered with Adult Acne, but dont know if I can stay long on this med. My stomach hurts all the time |
