| Pros | Pros -Clearer skin no red or spots -less oil on my shoulders, back and face -still working and it s been over 2 months -reduces size of pimple faster |
|---|---|
| Cons | Cons -Dry skin depending what shower gel you use -Takes about 3 to 4 weeks to see improvement -slight redness at first -flaking at first you must exfoluate in shower or bath to stop this -didnt fully clear my skin it takes time |
| Bottom line | I have been using this duac gel on and of for afew months. It didnt work doing this I found. So I use it every night for the last 2 months and its cleared my shoulders and face 99% now. My back is about 75% to 80% clear now. I have to use it every single night before bed or even after a shower at night time. If I miss 1 night I can have spots or redness starting in places. But if I use it every night I dont have a problem. So simple terms it has to be used regular with out missing it using duac gel. One other thing I use gloves in the shower that exfoluate my skin to scrap of any dry or flakey skin this solves the problem. This is the best gel I have used but for it to work you need the right shower gel not to dry your skin before to much. Also exfoluate your skin when having a shower. If you have redness cover the hole skin and spots and if you have any big spots put a small blob of duac gel over the spot and leave it there. The next morning it clears up far faster 50% faster with bigger spots this way. My skin is oily on my back, shoulders and face so the gel stops me producing to much natural oils. But the same time not stopping it all togeather because it will age all your skin and the way you look. Not to be used in 2 times a day its to much and damage your skin. I rate this 4 stars cause I havn't finnshed yet or seen it clear up fully yet. But so far so good my girl friend can see a big diffrence now. I also get mine of the doctor due to my condition. But I know it costs abit to buy but it would be worth it. You have to get things right for it to work otherwise you never fix the problem. I will come back and rate Duac gel again after the new year then it will be 6 months. Then give anther review to show how 2 months went to 6 months. I will keep you up to date with the progress. So far so good so I cant complain. |

| Pros | It Works for me.Skin not perfect, but i look normal teen with very slight acne now. Pimples, bumps, and even Blackheads all visually reduced within first week. Skin feels smooth and soft, Not like a Brail book. When used as directed, faithfully,it cleared skin. Do not notice the bleaching like what other BP products caused on clothes and pillowcase. |
|---|---|
| Cons | First week Skin very dry and redness increased (Both Faded Past Week Two). Refridgeration required. If not followed faithfully as directed (Skipping treatments for weekend ; 0 ) acne flares up close to pre-treatment stage.YIKES. Cost without insurance is high. |
| Bottom line | I have been using this for almost three months.I feel great now. My skin was covered with zits, bumps, and huge blackheads before.I still have maybe a zit a week but that is great compared to what it was! My acne was horrible! Had people teasing me about it.Now they ask what i'm using cause they want clear skin also! Do not miss treatment, learned the hard way. Wonderful product for me.The cost with insurance is affordable, without about $170 monthly. |

| Pros | Inexpensive with insurance |
|---|---|
| Cons | Did not work, although did not necessarily make things worse. |
| Bottom line | I had high hopes based on the positive reviews and my dermatologists' testimony to me that he would "give this product to his son". however, i was thoroughly disappointing as it did nothing for acne, redness, etc. The combination treatment was a disappointment to me personally. I give it a 2 because it did not cause me an initial breakout nor did it help a thing. |

| Pros | Clears up skin somewhat |
|---|---|
| Cons | dry skin flaky more breakouts where i never had them before |
| Bottom line | I like this product. but it dried out my skin too much. its brought out acne under my chin, where i never had it before. Bottom line is, i would get it to clear up existing acne but i would not use it to prevent it |

| Pros | It works, which is all I wanted it to do. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Really dry, flaky skin at the beginning but skin grows more tolerant after about 2 weeks. Caused a really bad initial breakout and made me want to quit using it. Has to be kept refrigerated which is problematic if you're travelling. It expires quite fast. |
| Bottom line | The first 2-3 weeks of using this were quite hellish.I had worse breakouts than ever before with dry, red flaky skin. Then after 3 weeks it was like some sort of miracle and my skin just constantly improved. It is now 98% clear after 6 weeks and the only downer is that red marks are still lingering.Once they fade my skin will be totally flawless thanks to Duac.I wouldn't use this product just before a big event as the first few weeks are the worst but you really have to stick with it for it to work!Don't give up before 6weeks unless you have really, really sensitive skin as your skin will get used to it.I would all say to get a good moisturizer.I love La Roche-Posay Effaclar Compensating Soothing Moisturizer which helps combat the dryness. I would also say to wash your face with warm water if you don't already as this helps remove the dead skin and opens up the pores so the gel can be easily absorbed.I give it 4/5 because ideally you wouldn't want the initial dryness/breakouts but once you get passed that it's 5/5. |

| Pros | It heals the acne faster than other products, it's cheap, it doesn't dry your face too much, it doesn't make you peel like a monster |
|---|---|
| Cons | you have to store it in the fridge, you can't use it during the day or expose yourself to sunlight |
| Bottom line | A dermatologist prescribed me Duac almost three months ago, when I was desperate and thought everything I did was never going to work on me. In the last three weeks, I have started to see an improvement on my face. I still get acne, but not so much as before, and it's great. I just hope it stays like this. Another thing I am doing since I have started with Duac is taking Diane 35 daily, a type of birth control pill prescribed for acne. I think the combination of these two works for me. |

| Pros | *Clears acne |
|---|---|
| Cons | *Drys out skin *Makes your skin flake |
| Bottom line | I had bad acne in middle school. I used to get red bumps all on my chin and forehead. When I went to the dermatologist finally I was prescribed this along with retin-a-micro. It cleared my skin :) I no longer use this product anymore because it does not do anything for me anymore, but I have not had bad acne since. I highly recommend this. It does dry you out, but get a good moisturizer and you should be fine. |

| Pros | Can be worn under make-up, with a moisturizer. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Doesn't really affect my acne. |
| Bottom line | For years, I've "worn" Duac underneath my make up because I did not want to put any make up directly on my skin. I put on an Obagi moisturizer, then Duac and then dab on a tinted moisturizer, so as to ensure that my skin does not dry out. Before my cystic acne set in, I was pimple-less for years and I swear it was the Duac! Now that I have cystic acne for some undiscovered reason, it does little, if anything to help my acne. I still prefer to use it because I don't like to put make up directly on my skin. |

| Pros | -Works best as spot treatment |
|---|---|
| Cons | -Didnt help prevent breakouts -Doesnt do anything for hyperpigmentation |
| Bottom line | Duac is definitely more effective than any OTC products you can buy, but for more severe acne (such as ones that leave marks like mine) there are much more effective acne prescriptions out there that will help. I used Retin-A Micro after Duac and personally had the much better results with that. However, it is important to atleast try Duac for a month or so first to see if it works for you. I definitely think those with more mild forms of acne should give Duac a shot. |
