I've been using Duac for the past three days along wtih Erythromycin (an antibiotic taken orally) the two seem to be working great so far. i had a bad breakout only on the right side fo my face, i already am starting to see a difference, except for the fact that my face is itching like crazy!! i think it's cause i'm allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide. i'm going to keep using it just because it seems to be helping my acne. my face has been breaking out since Feb. 06 this is now Sept. 06 nothing was working before, so we'll see if it continues to give me great results. i'm gonna keep my fingers crossed.

I started using Duac bout two years ago it helped me a lot but it seems like if you stop your acne starts all over again, it almost seems like they make it addictive to your skin so you keep using it until you grow old but over all it works as long as you keep using it.

It's been 7 weeks since using Duac every night, and even though it's for inflammatory acne it cleared up the clogged pores (caused by hormones - increase in oil) that were deep in my skin on my cheeks and forehead by 75%. I did not have any dryness, redness or peeling, but my skin is used to large amounts of benzoyl peroxide, so I assume that's why I didn't dry out. I noticed improvement with Duac after one day. I started using Differin, only three times so far (every other day) and have started to break out more, which is supposed to happen. Hopefully that will clear the rest of clogged pores.
I'm also going to take Yaz (Yasmin's lower birth control) to reduce the oil and period-related breakouts.

I have had acne since I was 14, mainly on my "t-zone". The only thing that worked for clearing it was tanning. At 22 my acne started to change and I began to get large pimples and clogged pores on my cheeks which never happened before, and oil all over my face 1.5 hours after I would wash it. I started breaking out in the middle of my cycle when I would have spotting, and before my period. I was able to clear the large pimples that occured seperate from my cycle symptoms by not eating refined sugar - white sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup. For some people the spike in blood sugar causes an inflamatory response, also food high on the glycemic index. My acne cleared in one month, and I have continued to stay away from refined sugar for 9 months. I started taking Nicomide (heavy vitamin B3 to combat inflamation)- now 14 weeks - and I can eat sugar again, but I still try to limit it. Natural sugars like evaporate cane juice, brown rice syrup did not and still do not make me breakout. They are better anyways as there is no bone char in the refining process and are less refined.
The Nicomide has not helped with the clogged pores, and I still break out occassionally aside from the hormone related ones. Again, with the continued use of Duac and now Differin, and the pill, I hope it fully clears.

I was prescribed this by my GP after starting to get painful boil type spots in my early 20's. This stuff works! My skin is quite sensitive but i never got any irritation from this gel- a thin layer is all that you really need. I'm quite shocked to hear the price that you have to pay for it in the US, it's only £6.95 here (about $12). The only problem with it is now that i've ran out the spots have creeped back, so i would recommend keeping up this treatment for as long as you can!

Ihave had exzema off and on but never on my face.after meication for a blood cancer(myeloma) i started to get two red spots on my forhead I put some Triamcinalone on the spot and they would disappear.Later after not using it for a while they would return and I would get some bumps that looked like it had a head on it,very small.Went to a dermatolgist. He prescribed a layer of duac and over that a layer of curtivate(a mild adrenal lotion) morning and night. i have been on it for two months. no lesions but skin very dry and peals. He now wants me to use it once a day. I'm getting anxious to stop the treatment to see if it returns
