Pros Cheap and works well
Cons Drys skin a little and burns
Bottom line This product works so well its like nothing i have ever used before. It does dry your skin a little but it is totally worth putting a little extra lotion on if it mean I am going to get clear skin. I don't have that bad of acne but this just ggives me better looking skin.

I got this product at Dollar Genral after reading the reviews here.

Pros you feel the clean feeling right away!
Cons a little burning, but i'd rather have that than acne!
Bottom line i've been using proactiv, it's worked for my face, but it's definately too expensive. i drink A LOT of pepsi and fat foods, i'm trying to better that though lol. my grandmother bought it for me, and it really looks like it's working. i love the feeling. great product.

Pros Very inexpensive form of BP
Cons Gritty consistency, easily irritates/overdries skin
Bottom line I'm 36 y/o & have used BP for over 20 years for moderate acne. My consistency of using BP daily has always varied, but I can honestly say it clears my skin if I consistently use it every night. I found ClearZit to easily irritate my skin when used daily. It feels gritty/course when applying. If you can't afford anything else, it's usable, but I won't purchase it again.

Pros Controls oil, dries blemishes fairly quickly (even the deep nodules/cysts), smooth consistency for easy application
Cons Very drying to the areas around my mouth and chin, doesn't completely clear or prevent my acne (which is severe), bleaches fabrics
Bottom line At 23, my acne went from mild to severe within a few months of moving from OH to FL. I have tried all Rx and OTC products...my last trial of Differin/sulfur wipes/Tetracycline left me with multiple cysts on my cheeks and jawline. I stopped using everything and just used mild soap and ClearZit for the past 2 weeks. The smaller acne is now pretty much gone, and the cysts have decreased in size and frequency. No other product has worked so quickly and effectively, and it's only $1.00/tube at Dollar General! I hope that with continued use of ClearZit I won't have to spend and extra hour covering my zits before work each morning!!

Pros This product dries up my oily skin breakouts within a day or two. I also use it right after shaving, it keeps razor bumps to a minimum. It has also cleared up areas of my face that had dark spots from past breakouts.
Cons Over using it on unaffected areas can cause dry patches.
Bottom line I would recommend it to teens and adults. At 3.00 for the tube it is less expensive than most other name brand products. Even though it is a small tube you only need a small amount. It works so well it last me up to 3 months and longer. A dollar a month isn't bad. I was really happy to notice the old dark spots gone. It does give you a slight burning sensation when you use it on a freshly washed face, but that may be from scrubbing the face too hard during cleansing which is what I tend to do. I've gotten a good routine now. I use a mild soap (don't scrubb too hard), a mild astringent, (again use a light touch), and finally the Clearzit on the fingertips and apply it only on the area that needs it.

Pros For a dollar, it does its job better than most acne products out there.
Cons Bleaches towels and clothing.
Bottom line I've been using Pro Active for over a year and the product ended up giving me more acne problems than when I started. I went from having 2 pimples every three weeks to having 3-4 pimples in one week! I also had been using Oxy Pads, but had limited results.

Clear Zit works. After reading the reviews here, I went out and bought it at a Dollar General up the street. This being my third week using the product, I've had no new pimples and I even noticed scars starting to fade a little bit! It burns sometimes, dries the skin and makes it peely/flakey, so I just use a little lotion sometimes when I notice the peeling. But hey, the cream is working, so I'm not complaining.
