Pros None for me
Cons unless taken with food you will experience nausea. Can't take with dairy products. Dried out my eyes.
Bottom line I have been on doxy 100mg twice a day for a month now. My face has never broke out this bad. It seems like more and more each day. I went to the doctor because I get the occasional bump and sometimes in cycles. She prescribed me doxy and said give it some time. All it did was make everything worse. When I look in the mirror I get depressed. Hopefully I can start accutane and see if that works. I wish I never would have gone to see a dermatologist because all she did was screw up my face. I would be much happier without taking this medicine. Now I have to try something else to stop what has just recently come up. Now I know how people feel that have severe acne.

Pros This product totally cleared my skin after a month. IO mean my skin was perfect, I really thpught my acne was gone for good.
Cons The acne will come back after five months. It is very heartbreaking. And while on the medicine you can eat dairy which is kinda of hard.
Bottom line The product works but around month four or five you need to start on it again.

Pros The only good thing about this medicine is that it works for a few months
Cons I have been on doxy for almost a year now, it worked for me for about 5 months and my acne is starting to come back. I read that once you stop taking doxy or become immune, that there is a high chance your acne will come back worse than before.
Bottom line It is nice to have clear skin for a while, but it is definitely not worth taking due to the fact that once you stop taking this medication, you have to deal with the pain all over again. I would not recommend this product to anyone unless they have tried everything with no results, and if you do decide to take doxy, I really hope that everything works out okay. I have never missed a dose and have alway tried to take it the same time every day. I started with 100mg twice a day now I am trying to wein myself off of it because my acne started coming back, now I am taking 50mg twice a day.

Pros moderate acne, doxy maybe dropped it down to mild
Cons stop taking it and acne comes right back
Bottom line doesnt work well enough to try. Once you stop, be prepared for an even worse face.

Pros No queasiness (except for first time) or side effects.
Cons I still have acne all over my face. This product may have calmed it down a bit, but I haven't seen any results.
Bottom line I supposed it just didn't work for me. My dermatologist said that Doxycycline has barely any effect on my type of acne (comedone).

Pros -smaller pores - works in a week or so
-eradicates cystic zits/ pimples on forehead and chin
-no experienced side effects
Cons -drug immunity
-more/new pimples
Bottom line Had gorgeous skin, with exception of my forehead and chin. These two areas were prone to cystic zits.
Doxy. worked extremely well on these, however, after four months pimple clusters formed on my cheeks and became progressively worse.
After 5 months body became immune, and everything returned, but worse as now i have to clear up my cheeks which never before had a problem.
Am off doxy and derm has presribed minocycline...

Pros cleared my face in 3 weeks, still clear about 2 months later.
Cons none, unless it suddenly stops working (a scary thought)
Bottom line I realize that drugs work very differently for different people, but doxycycline worked wonders for me. I was first prescribed monocycline, which seemed to make matters worse, and for months I refused to take any kind of medication bc I feared the same result. After taking doxycycline, my pimples disappeared in about 3 weeks. I have been on doxy for nearly 2 months now, and so far so good. I think, ultimately, that everyone deserves to feel good about themselves, or at the very least, to be able to walk outside in the sunshine and not be ashamed. I wish anyone who may be reading this the best of luck! Hold your head up high =)

Pros works well to prevent acne.
Cons Acne comes back after 4-6 months of taking it.
Bottom line I am 27 and developed an acne problem at age the age of 21. Before that, I had clear skin all the time. Doxy works really well to treat acne short-term. As soon as I took it, I never had a pimple. I had moderate acne and have been taking doxy on and off for almost two years. However, at this time, i am resistant to it since I've take it on four occassions over the course of two years. The treatment last for about 4-6 month and then I would break out again, forcing me to be on it again. My acne now is considered mild. However, I am so used to clear skin so I am now on monocycline. Hopefully it will work. Acne is a real pain. My derm thinks I am nuts, but I don't think it is normal to get a new pimple every week. I feel like the acne treatment is a bunch of bull sh*t.
