| Cons | if i didn't take it with food i would feel sick to my stomach, so i would always take it at night. basically, it just didn't work. |
| Bottom line | pretty worthless in my opinion. plus, should you stop taking it, your symptoms reappear, and you shouldn't take antibiotics for that long due to bacteria becoming immune |

| Bottom line | i dont understand why so many people complain about this. this has worked wonders for my skin, honestly it clears me up 110% and i love it! although i really have to stress that once you start taking it, especially towards the end of your course, DO NOT GET LAZY with it because the most resitant and persistant strains of bacteria are left at that time and it you dont take it as directed that bacteria will multiply and your acne will just come straight back ten fold and it will be much more difficult to treat. the only side effect i got from this was being constipated for over a year and a half after taking this but i still recomend it! |

| Cons | This antibiotic was horrible. No matter how much food or water I took with it, it would always cause me to throw up several times after taking it and feel sick all day. It also did not clear my skin - probably because I always threw it up. |
| Bottom line | Don't take it unless you have a really strong stomach. This medicine is extremely corrosive. |

| Bottom line | I don't like this antibiotic. Wish and wanting him(my doctor) to take me off of it but refuses to, says I have to keep takin it in order for it to work..get a clue, its been over a year and the acne and scars are gettin worse. Thumbs down! Don't use it. |

| Bottom line | Effective for the first year: even coming off them for a further half year with no return. However, into the following year without taking any medication, the acne returns a little worse. I am now going to go to my doctor to try Retin-A, which my siter and mum had years ago and they have no problems with their skin at all! Fingers crossed! Good luck everyone! |

| Pros | it works, but took a while. prob about 2 1/2 months to start clearing up, now i just get the odd one. |

| Cons | Made my acne worse! I've been using this stuff for about 25 days and my acne has gotten about twice as bad. My chin is a war zone and I have gotten large/deep zits on my forehead. Before I used this, I never broke out on my forehead. |

| Bottom line | I had never had acne until about age 24-25 and it just got progressively worse. I'm 27 now and always had to use makeup to cover and that also just aggravated it! Finally, at a physical I suggested it to my primary care provider and she gave me doxycycline to try and it slowly has been working. It has been about a month and I hardly ever get a pimple. If I do, it is like just one and that I can live with! I think I had bad cystic acne before around my jaw line and my cheek/side burn area. They were very deep and under the skin so you could not really do anything about them. I am looking so much better now. Very cleared up! Now I just need some time for the hyperpigmentation scars to fade. I just am not looking forward to the day when my body becomes resistant to it as I have heard it does :( |

| Bottom line | These tablets are crap!! I have moderate acne and this did absolutely nothing, my doctor put my on it for 1year and I have seen no improvements. It may work for mild acne what isn’t that bad, but for anything worse I advise you not to waste your money!! |

| Bottom line | Well I have mild/moderate acne...and I think a case of BDD.. I am very depressed when I breakout and stay in and dont go out with friends. I just started Doxycycline exactly 2 weeks ago... I got an initial breakout.. so i am SUPER depressed right now..only been leaving home to go to work. I plan on giving it a month.. Is this normal to have an initial breakout?? Because my skin has never been this broken out before..and im just hoping if i stick with it it will clear..?? Thanks for any advice..:( ! |
