Pros: I'm over 30. I've had acne all my life. This antibiotic worked almost instantly. Started 10 days ago, and have not had a single outbreak since 7 days ago. Unbelievable. Cons: Tend to get sunburned easily. A bit of stomach discomfort at first. Bottom Line: Personally, it's a wonder drug. Obviously, it won't work as well for everybody, but it's really worth asking your doctor for a prescription. I think you want at least 100mg per day dosage for avg size person with light to moderate acne. I've tried over-the-counter meds and creams, as well as prescription creams...none of that worked for me. Recommended: Yes Usage: AGU has used this item for about a week. Pros: Cheap and has helped kinda on my cheeks Cons: i still have bad acne all an redness scar looking things on my chin an for head is little pimples Bottom Line: I been taking it for like 2 weeks hoping to see more improvment is worked kinda but i heard it takes up to 3 months to cure im tired of having acne all my friends have pretty clear skin an i see me an im like (Ewww) I mean my face is not horrible but still u can see it all an makeup makes it look worst... Pros: Cleared up my acne..reduced redness and skin looks alot smoother Cons: without food it upsets the stomach and very sensitive to the sun so make sure u use some kind of sunblock! Bottom Line: Been using Retin_A for 11 yrs and oral medication Doxy for 2 months now and my skin is 100% clear, havent had a break out in 3 weeks. My skin looks smooth and the redness is no longer there. Pros: Clears skin. Cons: Takes about 6 weeks to work. Nausea if taken on empty stomach. Can cause esophageal burns if not taken with enough water. Bottom Line: Make sure you take it with a full glass of water. It works well and doesn't make your skin peel like topical creams. Pros: Cheap Easy to take At my pharmacy, I can get a two week supply for free Cons: Don't take on an empty stomach. I tried and it was awful Honestly I don't think I've seen any improvement with it Bottom Line: I've been taking this for years, and I don't think it's improved my skin at all. The only reason I still take it is because I've seen tremendous improvement in my skin (I started using Proactiv and the Zapzyt acne pack), so I'm afraid to stop taking it. !!!WARNING, THE NEXT FEW SENTENCES ARE GROSS!!! Unlike what they say, take it on a full stomach. When I took it on an empty stomach, I got so sick I actually vomited the pill back up, and I felt terrible the entire day. !!!END OF GROSS PART!!! Pros: still waiting to see results...cleared up a bit of the redness Cons: really bad nausea and vomiting everyday Bottom Line: i barely started about a week and a half ago so im still awaiting some more results,im 15 yrs old and out of nowhere i started breaking out real bad all over my chin,back and forehead. i had clear skin before nd maybe two or three zits here and there but i would rather go back to that then what i have now,also i get really big pimples on my chin and forehead,i dont touch them but for some reason when the bump goes away the big red mark stays and leaves me post acne marks not only that but those post acne marks are all over my chin and forehead and i have two big marks from these two big pimples under my nose about 3 centimeters above my lip,my self-esteem is extremely low and i cant even stand to look at myself in the mirror because my face looks horrible and hiding them with makeup makes it worse and it looks really cakey bcuz i try to hide them under all this foundation.ive tried so many acne products like proactive and none work!! anyone in the same situation as me?? Pros: I noticed improvement within 4 - 5 days of starting it. I am prescribed 150mg two times a day. Cons: sunburn at 8.30 in the morning and outside for 5 mins, I learned quickly to use factor 50+ I also get prickly itchy feeling for about 10 mins after taking it. Bottom Line: It works, I've been on it for over 6 months now, and I have found if I stop using I break out big time within 2 - 3 days. Then it takes a further 4 - 5 days to clear it back up again. I still get some very mild break outs while on it, but nothing like before. I was suffering from cystic acne before. I'm just hoping I can drop it all together eventually. Pros: Easy to take, cheap with insurance, complexion is clear :) Cons: can get nauseous if you don't take it with food but I always do. Bottom Line: I get light to moderate acne most of the time but sometimes it can get severe depending on my stress level. I tried microdermabrasion for a year and it worked really well but I had to get it done regularly and if I missed one appointment, they would be back again. I was using glymed's supplies, 5% benzyl peroxide, and toner which had salycylic acid. It was just getting too expensive and I was tired of going to it regularly so I went to see my dermatologist who asked me to take 2 100mg tablets twice a day and I have been taking these for over 2 months now and my complexion is almost clear. I still get one or two but for the most part it is clear and after 2 1/2 years i'm finally happy. I was sick of applying all that stuff to my face every morning and night and I had dryness sometimes! My dermatologist also gave me the dual topical treatment with clindamyacin and benzyl peroxide but I used it only in the beginning. I hope I won't have to take this medication for too long... Pros: Works well, easy to use. Cons: None Bottom Line: Use it! I had a very sudden breakout have never having acne, I took it for 6 months and was totally clear when I stopped taking it.
