| Pros | good for mild acne, costs next to nothing |
|---|---|
| Cons | nausea, long-term resistance and decreased effectiveness |
| Bottom line | Use this ONLY if you have mild acne [5 active spots?]. For SEVERE sufferers [7 or more? 3 popping up each day?] I suggest, go straight to RoAccutane. Or else, it's not worth it - you risk getting leaky gut, thrush, and when the time comes when you're infected with a stubborn flu once you get off the antibiotics, you'll just have to get even stronger antibiotics. I've used it for over a year, then switched to RoAccutane; we'll see how it goes. Meantime, don't let e derm waste ur time and cause more harm to your body if you really think it's not gonna work for you - trust your logics, some jaded derm's algo thinking might not always work out. |

| Pros | Worked fast, now 95% clear. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Have to take it with food, but not dairy. |
| Bottom line | It made my skin smoother and clearer in days. Take with loads of water and eat healthier. Try to take it the same time each day. If you take it twice a day try to take it at 12 hour increments, as it will work at its best that way. I use it with jojoba oil, and my skin has NEVER been better. Try it =) and good luck! |

| Pros | Works well |
|---|---|
| Cons | you will eventually become immune to antibiotics |
| Bottom line | I had clear and perfect skin while a teen. However, I started to develop an acne problem when I was 21. It grew more persistent at the age of 23 to moderate acne. Over the last four years, I have been on Tricycline, doxycycline and minocycline with great results. My acne became mild and persistent, but I eventually became immuned to each drug(s) after being on them on and off them the past four years. At age 27, I am not responding to these drugs and therefore on accutane to treat my persistent and mild acne. My dermatologist recommended it and said that it will cure me. I just started now. Bottom line, you will eventually be immuned to the drug over time and have to use another antibiotic. By then, if you acne still persists, I suggest accutane as the last resort. Severe acne though, should be treated with accutane. |

| Pros | Much more effective than topicals Ive tried, including benzyl & tazorac. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Apparently doctors wont let you take it forever |
| Bottom line | Age 27. Took 20mg, 2 times daily. Have nearly perfect skin for the first time in years. I take it without water or food and have no stomach issues. I have been using for 2 months, the doctor is already cutting back my dosage. Too bad. |

| Pros | It is cheap in regards to getting a prescription. It will not happen over night so stick with it.It has helped every time I have used it. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Can make you sick to stomach as all antibiotics. Will make you sun sensitive. |
| Bottom line | It will work IF you give it time and use it as it says. You should eat first. Do not take dairy products when you take it. Do not take vitamins within a couple of hours before or after. Certain vitamins will take away from its ability to work. PLEASE read the directions when you get it. (Drink a FULL GLASS OF WATER when you take it and DO NOT LIE DOWN FOR 30 MINUTES after. This will help with stomach upset. AGAIN DRINK A FULL GLASS OF WATER when taking each pill. This will also help with stomach upset. Use a screen block if going to beach or pool. Make sure the screen block is OIL FREE and WON"T CLOG PORES. GOOD LUCK!!! |
