Doxycycline (Antibiotic) Reviews

Just told by derm that I have moderate acne...didn't seem like it to me, just always had a couple of bumps here or there. She said they were really deep and that I needed to be on doxy and retin A for 3 months. Been on the regimen for 10 days and love it. No more breakouts and past ones are almost gone. Can tell my skin is more sensitive but Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 helps. Never thought I would have completely smooth skin. Now I can't wait! PS. If doxy makes you sick to your stomach, take it at night...but don't lie down for 30 minutes afterwards.

Had to quit taking medicine on the second day. Terrible nausea and vomiting.

Ive tired Doxy and noticed no change at all.

I have only been on this for a couple of days (2) but I can start to see some results already. I had a few cysts on my face that were there before starting doxy (was on tetracycline before), and those are slowly going away. However, I would normally have had several new spots developing, both on my face and shoulders, by now. That is not happening.

As for the side-effects... well, not much really. Medicine impacts people differently. It makes me feel a little bit queasy for just a few minutes, but I don't tend to take it with food (absorbtion is better if you can tolerate it on an empty stomach). I would say that is worth it if it continues to work well.

This stuff works okay but you MUST stick with it!! You cant like skip a day or something or it will never ever get better. The dermatoligist put me on a one-a-day 100mg thing and it didnt do too much, but it still helped a little. I don't think it is worth 30 bucks though.

I've been taking it for 8 days now and, although it hasn't upset my stomach, it also hasn't done a thine to improve my situation. I still continue to break out in large cysts - my chin is killing me and I feel very itchy. I don't feel it's doing anything to kill the bacteria or infection. I'm going back to the dermatologist today.

Amazing for clearing up skin. Skin had been very bad for three months. Acne and extremely dry around chin and upper lip. Cleared up within 24 hours taking 100 mg capsule.
Was also using antbiotic facewash (King of Shaves). Spots went, skin far smoother, no longer flaky.
was careful not have any multi vitamins, B vits, iron supplements, Vit A and D caps. Also, as usual, have only have Yoghurt, never milk.
Side-effects:extremely tired at times, forgetful, paranoid.

Been on doxycycline for 7 weeks now. I had cystic acne all over my shoulders and face but it was by far worse on my shoulders. Derm has me on 2 100mg per day and I wash my back w/ brevoxyl creamy wash. Now I have no cysts on my back or face. My derm wanted me on accutane, but I currently have no insurance so that was not an option. I would recommend doxycycline, especially if you are unable to go on accutane.

Been on it for two weeks and have barely seen any results. Zit don't form white heads but new ones still show up.
