| Pros: | Can't really think of any... my skin hasn't improved at all! |
| Cons: | Have often felt nauseous after taking the tablet. Also the odd stomach ache after taking the tablet. Weirdly, I've also felt a lot more 'bloated'. |
| Bottom Line: | Been taking Doxycycline twice a day along with a adapalene gel (that I apply at night) prescribed by my doctor. I seen NO improvement in my skins whatsoever! Extremely frustrating... have now started using tea tree oil instead and my complexion has improved mildly... but still not great! |

| Pros: | Clears about half up...works well. No side effects for me. |
| Cons: | Takes a month to a month an a half to kick in (long process). Can't drink milk 1-2 hours before or after taking it. Sun-reactive. |
| Bottom Line: | Works pretty well. I'm on 150mg once daily (morning or night). Drink a bottle of water with it (: |

| Pros: | Cleared up acne within one week, no new breakouts! |
| Cons: | Sun sensitivity |
| Bottom Line: | My acne wasn't really bad but this cleared it up within one week of starting the medication. I haven't had one new breakout since I started taking it. I have noticed that it makes me more sun sensitive so I just make sure to wear sunscreen, no big deal. Other people have talked about nausea but I haven't had any of that, even at a 150mg dose. But overall, I would definitely give this a try it has worked wonders for me! |

| Pros: | none |
| Cons: | very sensitive to sun |
| Bottom Line: | I haven't noticed any improvement in my acne since starting doxycycline. I have severe fluctuations, some times my skin looks pimple free, others it it quite bad. However it was like that before doxycycline so i believe it to be ineffective. |

| Pros: | Cleared up my acne very quickly...been using this medication in addition to Retin-a and has worked wonders. |
| Cons: | Sun sensitivity and get some stomach aches every now and then but over all Ive been able to tolerate it. |
| Bottom Line: | Been using retin-a for 10 yrs now and was starting to develop cystic acne around my chin so my doctor gave me this medication to try in addition to my retin-a and I have noticed a big change. My acne has cleared up 90% ,my skin looks alot smoother and my pores are smaller. |

| Pros: | seems to be working ok, its only been a week |
| Cons: | super sensitive to sun, be careful
some peeling |
| Bottom Line: | im also using this with epiduo at night, and clindamycin in the morning.. so im not sure which one is working..but it may be the whole combo that is. i still have about 6 pimples currently, but they are in their final stage and i have some scarring which i hope this will also take care of. i reccomend it, give it a try. |

| Pros: | Cleared up Acne, prevents malaria |
| Cons: | caused anxiety/depression |
| Bottom Line: | I was on doxy for 2+ years from age 11-13. I eventually switched to minocycline, which was a better fit and provided a better solution for my moderate acne. While on it, I experienced major depression and anxiety but never realized that the medication could have been the cause. Last year I switched back to prevent malaria on a trip to africa and found myself feeling more anxious and depressed. Upon discontinuing the medication, all symptoms of anxiety and depression stopped.
Depression is not listed as a reported side effect of doxycycline, but it was a distinct side effect for me and I wouldn't take it again for acne or malaria. The negative mood alteration was too huge a price to pay. |

| Pros: | Doesnt have any |
| Cons: | First day i used it, i broke out like crazy red blocthes on my skin more sore pimples and extremly dry skin, the more i used it the more my skin got worse. I used to have only a few pimples that i was worried about and now im regreting geting on this |
| Bottom Line: | Its made my skin worse and ugly and now i dont want to step foot outside of the house, make-up doesnt even help thats how bad it is. Everyone said it will clear up within a week and it hasnt done anything like that. |
