Pros: Continuously clear skin (for over 15 years!), regular & light cycle (virtually no cramping), no pregnancy scares Cons: Occasional depression and mood swings 1-2 days prior to getting period, and most recently, seriously low sex drive! Bottom Line: I have been on Diane 35 for over 15 years almost CONTINUOUSLY! I went on it when I was 18 after 2 unsuccessful attempts at using Roaccutane (after which my acne came back worse!). I am now 32 and have found Diane 35 to be excellent at treating my acne. I have attempted to go onto a more 'typical' BCP a few times because of the price. Diane is not subsidized in Australia making it 3 times more expensive than a regular pill. My acne has returned with a vengeance every time, particularly on my back & chest. Up until now I have been pleased with Diane 35 and have had relatively few side effects. However, recently my sex drive has virtually disappeared, much to the disappointment of my partner. After 2 years of suffering, he is at his wits end, and I am now researching possible reasons. Perhaps it is due to my age or other emotional issues, however I am exploring physical causes first: they're the easiest to cure! Pros: no major side effects (ie. weight gain, nausea, headaches or water retention) Cons: acne is way worse Bottom Line: I do not recommend this pill. I have only been taking this pill for about three weeks and it has made my acne worse than ever before. I feel very mislead by my doctor because she described this pill to me as being a miracle cure for my acne and did mention any side effects. The type of acne that i'm receiving from this pill is different than what i had before. My skin is much more sensitive and becomes red very easily. The pimples that I'm getting are more like sores on my face and are not able to be squeezed. I'm scared to go off of this pill because of the other horrible stories i've heard on this thread. I really do regret taking this pill and do not recommend it to anybody given all of the different side effects it has for each person. Pros: Clearer skin, and is a birth control Cons: does give me nausea Bottom Line: bottom line; it's treated me the same way any other birth control has. Yasmin has the same pros but doesn't give me nausea. if i go off any birth control whether it's been aless, yasmin, or diane my skin always get worse. Diane however clears it up faster. if you find it does make you sick always take it in the middle of the day with lunch, never at night or in the morning. Pros: Skin is less oily Cons: More acne than ever before Bottom Line: I've been using this pill for about two weeks and the first week i didn't notice a change and the second week my acne became worse and doesn't seem to go away. Pros: Clears up skin a little Cons: None Bottom Line: I've been on the Diane for 6 months and my acne has improved a bit but it hasn't cleared up yet and I am getting very frustrated, I'm going to see another Dermatologist for a second opinion as I am getting scared of all the bad reviews when you come off this pill..I am not willing to take this pill for the rest of my life...it has been banned in the US for a reason and I regret taking it. On the other hand, I haven't had any adverse symptoms as yet, no weight gain or loss, no cellulite, no headaches or moodswings...but these may appear after extended use of the pill. Bottom Line, only take it if you have no other choice and you have tried EVERYTHING ELSE. Make sure to seek second and even third opinions. Pros: clear and glowing skin Cons: mood swings, hungrier than before, headaches! Bottom Line: I've only been on the pill for 10 days and already people are telling me how great I look , my face is clearing up and glowing , I'm very happy! I'm hungrier than before , but that's not bad for me cause I'm 5ft 7 in and I weigh 108 pounds , so a few extra pounds should help me look better. I am having some mood swings and at night I get headaches , but until now that's all I really have to say about it. I'll come back and let you all know how the final results turne out . Pros: I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries a month ago- my body wasnt convertin testosterone into estrogen as should n my period stopped for 3 months. Product corrects this. My skin was always great before so no review for that. Cons: Since I've started taking it, I've been urinating way more. I take it about 9 am and for following hours i find myself visiting the rest room even 2 times an hour Bottom Line: Thumbs up for Diane 35 (so far) - it works against the entire polycystic ovaries condition and thats really good. Pros: None Yet! DId anyone break out a lot the first week then saw better results?? Cons: always hungry, more acne, nausea, mood swings Bottom Line: My biggest problem is that i fel extremely fat and I can't ever control my appetite. Pros: clear skin,less oily skin and hair Cons: cellulite,water retention, hair loss,poor leg circulation Bottom Line: the amout of cellulite scares me! I dont know if its caused by water retention or by taking hormones.My skin was not that bad to begin with, so the acne went away fas. I also experienced some hair loss.I started taking this only 3 weeks ago, but Im already going to go off of it.If I stay more than 5 minutes standing up, I notice some red spots on my legs, from poor circulation.I am giving it 3 stars because it does clear up your skin, but the side effects are a lot worse.
