| Cons | Acne got much much worse at first, depression and mood swings |
| Bottom line | I took Diane 35 for nearly a year. During that time I had severe mood swings and fights with my boyfriend. I used to cry all the time for no reason. Although my skin got clearer, the first 2 months I was on it my skin was worse than it had ever been and the zits I had during those months left permanent scares. After breaking up with my boyfriend (yes, it got that bad), I quit the pill and I have never been so happy. I will never go back on this product ever - even though I do miss the clear skin. There must be another solution out there? |

| Pros | I've been suffering from acne for sooo long now ,i found that diane realy helps me ,my skin is much more clear ,and also helped a little with my body hair overgrowth ,but the problem is i don\t know is it safe to use it forever as long as i need it? |

| Bottom line | I think Diane is a good medication for people that don't develop side effects, I haven't developed much of them (only the hair loss). I have tried other bc pills and this one really works for me. I haven't gained weight. |

| Pros | I have always had very heavy periods with a lot of pain as well as some cystic acne. I had tried many pills before this one and none of them helped my acne or lessened my periods. While taking Diane, my skin has cleared up considerably. |

| Bottom line | My skin looks so much better and I no longer get painful, cyst-like acne. The price is about the same as other pills and my periods are predictable and less painful. Have stayed on it for years because it works well for me. |

| Bottom line | I haven't tried Diane yet but my doctor prescribed it for my acne yesterday. I didn't want to take this, I told the Dr. that I wanted Tri-cyclen Lo because I was on it before and it worked and I had no side effects as well as the benefit of an effective birth control but he insisted I get Diane. The doctor did not disclose any side effects of Diane but through the research I've done it seems that this product has more harmful and/or unwanted side effects than any other "birth control" pill. Even the pharmacist failed to answer my questions about side effects. I took it as there is something to hide. I won't be taking this medication, I will be going back this week to get the Tri-cyclen Lo. I don't understand why a drug like Diane would even be legal in Canada; it's not legal in the U.S. which is a big clue. I would rather be pimply than have the side effects that I read off of the entries here and other research. My face isn't REALLY bad; it's not worth risking my self-esteem. |

| Bottom line | The doctor says I have to give it a real go... like 6 months plus. I have PCOS and suffer from slight facial hair on the chin and upper lip... from some of the reviews I have read Diane has reportedly made facial hear dissapear completely. I was just wondering if electrolysis/laser treatments were also required as I have also read that the drug only stops further hair growth. Once hair growth is in a certain area it is irreversible? |

| Pros | It cleared up my skin and decreased the amount of oil in about a month of taking it. My periods aren't as heavy and are always on schedule. |

| Cons | I workout 3-4 times a week and eat healthy but I have gained weight in my hips with 2 months of taking Diane. In addition, my breasts have grown considerably. |
| Bottom line | I'd rather have some acne than be 10lbs fatter and have over-sized breasts. So not worth it! |

| Cons | Depression...have not had that before,and in the past I had headaches.I have just restarted this pill this week,and already the symptoms have appeared. |
| Bottom line | I like that it cleared up my skin,but the depression is a very unpleasant side effect. Very annoyed that I have a 6 month supply that I can't use...what a waste of money. Does anyone know if I can stop taking the pill,even though I am only into my first week of it? I guess if there are any side effects,they can't be worse than depression!! |

| Cons | I FEEL DOWN. I have been feeling down and depressed for the past few days and I couldnt figure out what it was so i reseacrhed it on google and this page showed up - AND THANK GOD for this forum Im calling my doc tomorrow. |
