| Cons | bouts of depression, increased anxiety, disruptive headaches lasting days (even with advil effective when in use but acne can return when you come off the pill. You can't stay on it forever! |
| Bottom line | I've been suffering from acne for almost 20 years. Before Diane -35, I was on Vitamin A acid (10%) and getting Kenalog Injections (this reduces the swelling and length of time for pimple to go away)Because I was still having an issue with acne, my doctor prescribed Diane 35. It took about 1 month for my body to adjust to it. At the beginning I felt like I was having morning sickness - but that went away after a doctor suggested I take it just before I went to bed. I did notice significant changes after 2 months. Received a lot of compliments - which encouraged me to continue for the 6-9 mths period I was told to take this pill. Unfortunately, throughout this time I experienced many months of depression (more then the normal mood swings women go through every month) I was on edge and snappy at everyone. The headaches have increased to the point that it is intolerable. This pill makes a tremendous difference in your skin. My skin has NEVER been smoother,but side have taken its toll |

| Bottom line | It is great for what you start taking it for but not worth it because of the side effects. It took me a while until I realized what caused my mood swings, depression (and I'm not saying they are all gone :) but do feel the difference now that I'm not on it anymore. Now I just have to find something else for my skin. It has never been this bad. If I could go back in time with this knowledge about this pill, would never ever start taking it. (I was on this pill for 9 years) |

| Cons | Very severe depression, increasingly worse over time. (Especially the months following the end of usage). |
| Bottom line | Not worth it; I would much rather have acne than experience the negative psychological effects of this drug. The long term effects also concern me. I have never felt the quite the same (psychologically) although I have stopped taking Diane since about a year ago now. |

| Cons | Period flow and pain is not terrible but certainly not as good as other brands I've tried. Major mood swings and depression. Acne came back with a vengeance when I missed a month! |
| Bottom line | I developed adult onset acne a few years ago but it really only affected my back and the right cheek on my face. I wouldn't say my acne was horribly severe - but I hated it! TriCyclen didn't help me but after several months on Diane 35 my skin was nice and smooth again! However, I missed a bunch of pills one month because I went away on vacation so I decided to skip a few weeks and boy did my acne ever come back! ALL over my face, it was awful! Once I started up again it cleared up. I'm afraid to go off of Diane now - especially because of my wedding coming up in 10 months - but I really want to get off of it because of all the medical side affects (mainly blood clots) and also my mood swings are just unbearable! I'm at a Catch 22...if I don't get off of Diane I may dump my fiance during one of my monthly depressions, but if I stop using it I will have a horrible pizza face for my wedding!!! |

| Bottom line | I have PCOS, complete with hirsutism and mild acne. Diane-35 reduced my facial hair, eradicated it on my chest, and cleared up my acne entirely. I have had no depression issues that I had not had before. In fact, I feel far better, because I look better. |

| Cons | Depression that might be sever sometimes, stomache pain in the first 4 days & nausea, feeling tired & sometimes my breath gets short. I even lost a lot of weight & when i stop it for several months i lose more & more weight. |
| Bottom line | I tried other medications & they had worse side effects on me. so i guess it's the best of the worst to use. & use it if u really need it & see what side effects u get cz it differs from one woman to another. As for me, i really wish i could give up this med but it's kinda not appropriate for me. |

| Bottom line | At first my skin got worse rather than better, but after about 4 months it has started to clear up completely, and I hardly ever break out anymore. Also, I've noticed my breasts have increases an entire cup size! Although it might come with a little bit of gained weight, I feel like I've gained it all in my breasts. I haven't experienced any hair loss or other symptoms that many others have seen, so as far as my skin goes, it has worked beautifully! I also used to get really bad PMS, and now my mood has improved 10X during that week! |

| Bottom line | i used to go through about 2 weeks a month with bad acne right around my period and then my skin would clear up for about a week or 2, now while taking Diane 35 my skin just looks consistantly bad through the whole month instead of clearing up. I don't know if I need to be on it longer but so far I am not really satisfied |
