| Pros | Shorter, lighter periods. Reduced oiliness in skin. Clear skin when on it for a long period of time. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Takes about 5 months to start working effectively. Expensive if your not covered under a health plan. Acne comes back if you go off for a couple months. |
| Bottom line | I'd say it's a great treatment for minor acne. When it comes to people who have suffered with acne for years its not the best........it reduces oilyness but it didn't clear me up that well. I really recommend acutane, and for all of you that have hard the horror stories about it...its not that bad. Give it a try! IT'S WORTH IT! |

| Pros | Clearer skin day by day in two weeks with Acnezine twice a day and Diane 35 once a day. |
|---|---|
| Cons | None. |
| Bottom line | 23 yrs old: I have been on it for two weeks. I havent had one white head since I started my combination of Acnezine twice a day and Diane 35 once a day. I used to get a white head everyday on my cheeks and now nothing - no oil either!!! I think the acnezine is the major contributor to the positive results! I love the two together! I think that you might want to try acnezine if you have lost hope (must use the cream part of it too - to see results like mine.) The one thing I will say is... I dont have any white heads but I do see a lot of blackheads-they are so easy to remove I just litely scratch @ my face and they flake right out of the pore. Well hope this helps in any descion making. Kind Regards |

| Pros | Clearer skin |
|---|---|
| Cons | No period,extreme nausea & vomitting,tiredness,bad fluid retention. |
| Bottom line | Dr prescribed this as a last resort for me (i have high bp!)due to hormonal imbalance after the birth of my last baby. I suffered terribly every 6wks with heavy period loss, vomitting, nausea&period pain. This pill has really made no difference to me. I have just finished my 2nd mth of Diane & still no bleeding (no, I'm not pregnant). But still suffer from the other symptoms. It is great for my skin & reduced my oily skin & hair significantly...which I loved! |

| Pros | Clears skin eventually, regular periods |
|---|---|
| Cons | Total loss of sex drive, vaginal dryness, recurrent utis, ACNE 100X WORSE WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE PILL |
| Bottom line | I had moderate acne as a teen, no cystic just many and my skin is suseptible to red marks. I went on this medication at age 15 and two years later my skin was clear. I was on this medication for 7 years at which time I went off the pill due to almost constant utis. I had a sex drive for the first time ever... and also the worst cystic acne I've ever had. This pill will make your acne permanent. It is only a last ditch solution!!! If I could do it again, I'd go with Accutane or Spiro first. Now I have permanent cystic acne when my little sister grew out of hers at age 20 (she wasn't on diane) |

| Pros | Cleared my skin, shorter periods, and reduced oily skin. |
|---|---|
| Cons | stomache pain, dizzy spells when first starting up again, expensive w/out health plan, major breakouts when off pills |
| Bottom line | I was perscribed Diane 35 for acne on my face when I asked for birth control. I went on it in 2005 and stayed on it for a yr then went off, and my skin was worse after, like most ppl seem to find. It works very well when I'm on it for my back-acne especially. I also have really oily skin and it cleared that up. Then going off it this past summer I broke out worse than before on my back and face. I've read tons of info on the side effects and I'm thinking of permanently going off it.. I recommend it if you're aware of all the risks. |

| Pros | Bigger Breasts, Less Leg Hair - Yipee! |
|---|---|
| Cons | Feel so tired! So moody! |
| Bottom line | It's synthetic - so who really knows what that will mean to me or my body down the line. I've been on it for 1 year and quite like it compared to others I've tried. |

| Pros | Takes care of my acne and regulates my period. No weight gain, or period pain and minimal bloating. Also my leg hair barely grows anymore- making shaving a cinch! |
|---|---|
| Cons | Some emotional instability and the constant need to apologize for it, occasional weeping and dizziness. I have tried to switch to another birth control pill but have way too much breakthrough bleeding and my acne really came back with a veng |
| Bottom line | The pill is great but I would rather have some sense of emotional stability. When I tried to switch to another pill (Yasmin) for 4 months, the annoying breakthrough bleeding that I experienced, was just way too much to handle. I was having about 3 two day periods a month- at any surprising time! Also my acne came back about 5 times worse than it ever was- so I was a bleeding spotty mess- and that caused emotional swings on its own (although at least I knew and could explain the reason why I was upset) The dizziness is a bit odd too- I have fainted on a few occasions and have a hard time standing in lines, at say the grocery store or the bank, without feeling like I am going to faint. Also its expensive and student plans don't cover it but thankfully my doctor managed to find me some free samples. So would I take it knowing what I know now..... probably not. As soon as I have time for the surprise periods again I am going to try to switch. |

| Pros | doesnt work sh*t for acne... or using for bc... |
|---|---|
| Cons | i was hung over the toilet every time i would take it... i lost 10 pounds because of this... |
| Bottom line | dont take this pill.... its bad for you in the first place you are only suppose to stay on it for 4-6 months and if it makes your acne worse when you get off of it, its not worth it. i would rather go on accutane rather then this.... |

| Pros | Good skin, decreased hair on body, painless periods |
|---|---|
| Cons | weight gain, depression, decrease in libido |
| Bottom line | I was prescribed Diane 35 to fight acne and a peculiar condition of scars on my legs because of thick body hair. It has only been 2 months that I have been on this medication. My doctor swears by it and I trust her that my skin will become smooth and terrific with this treatment. I dont know if my acne will re appear after i stop taking this pill. |

| Pros | clearer skin and definitely an effective birth control |
|---|---|
| Cons | not a long term effect. |
| Bottom line | I went on this pill for about 7 months, and it was an amazing pill, cleared my acne right up, but after I got off it when my skin cleared, within three months the acne came back! i got pimples on my forhead and t zone especially, and I never used to get pimples on my forehead, I'm definitely going back on this pill since my derm and my doc won't prescribe my accutane :(. I'm just starting my first pack again.. ! |
