| Bottom line | I've been taking diane for 2 years and 3 months! My acne completely cleared out on the 8th month of taking the pill. I am enjoying glorious, porcelain skin up to this day. I've been wanting to get off the pill since last year but I'm too scared that my pimples will come back with a vengeance! :( I'm too vain. Downside is I have gained more than 10 lbs. already. I get easily irritated and i'm always depressed! I've consulted several dermatologists. Been asking them re: possible alternatives that would prevent my acne from coming back should i stop taking diane, but not a single derma was able to assure me that I won't experience the same side-effect that other users here have gone through. I don't want to take this pill for life. I still want to have kids but I just couldn't take the idea of having to deal with uncontrollable acne again.. |

| Bottom line | There was actually no effect on my acne but I gain a lot of weight. I constantly worried about the amount of weight i was gaining. I am still taking it but I'm planning to switch because I am horrified about my weight. |

| Bottom line | It was free because it's covered under my extended medical as an acne medication. I took it for three months and during that time my sex drive fell so low that I didn't want to be touched at all or even kissed. Right after I stopped taking it the PMS was so bad I had to sit in the back room at work and cry for no reason at all. The depression was pretty horrible and I am still suffering the effects. This medication is very androgen-inhibiting and will likely make you fatter, get bigger boobs and have no sex drive. It may help your face but are the side effects worth it? Definately not for me! |

| Bottom line | I am 56 yrs old,thin dont smoke.I have had grade 4 cystic acne since I was 15 yrs old.At 16 i went on the pill,it worked for awhile. I was also taking tetracycline then and it null and voided the effects of the BCP. I got pregnant.I was married by that time but no one believed me that I was taking the BCP.We divorced.At 30 after years of treatment with antibiotic I built up resistances to most of them.I had so many I and D of cysts Ive lost count.So at 30 I wnt on Accutane. It almost killed me. I was one of the first to try it.I had a terrible allergic reaction to it but my Dermatologist kept me on it and started me on prednisone 50mg for 5 months. my second husband was such a dol,at night he would actuaaly carry me up the stairs because of the pain in my legs. at 51 yrs I stared on Diane 35.It has literally saved my life.I cant say enough good things about it.I wish it was legal in U.S. |

| Bottom line | I was using DIANE for 8 years, since 1999 to 2006 with one short break of 2-3 months, acne came back 2 months after I stopped. And it was severe. I started taking it again and it improved, then I stopped for more than year ago and for a whole year my skin was not bad at all until Desember last year, Then my skin worsened again. I think I will start taking it again. Pro-active helps a bit but not with the same effect as with DIANE 35. |

| Bottom line | i'm 21, have had acne since i was 12, and i've been on diane for about 1 year. it's okay but i'm ready to try something else that will make me more emotionally stable. it's free on my work plan which is nice. |

| Bottom line | I have been taking this pill for the past 15 years! I do like the effects on my skin. I have mood changes before the period, so I try to take it 3 months in a row rather than one. I'm affraid of long term effects... Everytime I stoped taking the pill, My skin erupts with rage. I'm in that transition right now, and i feel depressed of discovering 4 new eruptions in my skin everymorning (in addition to the others still on my skin) I'm form south america, I took it while living in the south emisphere, and once I moved here I have to get it shipped because it is illegal drug here. |

| Cons | You have to stay on the pill for years, and years. I have tried to stop, but acne comes back SEVERE, and has made me scar worse than before..:( Total loss of sex drive, mood swings, weight gain, loss of night vision, depressions. |
| Bottom line | I went on Diane 35 when I was just 15. I am 21 now, and I can't quit, becouse the acne keeps coming back when I go off it. I have scarred severely when off. I am now asking my doctor to go on Accutane... |
