Pros: Has really cleared my skin, so far effective contraceptive no more excruciatingly painful periods YAY Cons: slight weight gain but it is possible to lose, it takes a while to really start working (6 months was when i really starting noticing skin improvement) slight moodieness a little depressed nothing worse than usual PMS its just not in a pattern. Price Bottom Line: Yes its got a few negatives but give me a little weight gain(which is not hard to lose thank god) and moodiness for clear skin and no more painful periods any day. If you dont need something to clear your skin their are cheaper possibly better alternatives for you though. Recommended: Yes Usage: LIzz has used this item for about a year. Pros: birth control Cons: mood swings, no weight gain but am exercising every day and not losing any either Bottom Line: i was prescribed this pill by my dermatologist after suffering from acne caused by the use of another medication. i have been on diane 35 for 2 and a half months and it has been hell although i remain positive so start seeing results after the 3 months mark. i havnt had any serious side effects only feeling emotional and moody at times but i think that is all to do with the fact that i am having trouble coping with the way i look. i read these reviews all the time and i think people need to give the medication time to work, i know how horrible it is to deal with having acne but just try to remain positive. its a waiting game and there is nothing more you can do. remember to do only what the doctor or dermatologist has told your to and not try too many things at once out of desperation. i am so desperate to finally see results, hopefully in the next couple of weeks i should!!! Pros: Larger breasts, clearer skin.. Cons: many headsches, mood swings, severe fatigue, and terrible weight gain. Bottom Line: Diane 35 was recomended to me by my dermatologist. I was on Yaz with no bad symptoms. I switched to Diane 35 to help get rid of my acne. It wasn't all over but my forehead and chin would get these terribly painful cystic like pimples. So far its been over a month and my skin is slowly clearing up but for me the cons are outweighing the pro's. I have gained about 13 pounds in a month. I have always weighed between 105-108 and right now I'm at 122!!!! It is ridiculous! And decreased sex drive! So sorry ladies but I suggest another option! Pros: Cleared acne, lighter and more regular periods, less cramps Cons: Unbelievable weight gain, SWOLLEN and tender breasts, hungery all the time, moody/depressed Bottom Line: It feels like PMS allllll the time-- my breasts are always swollen and tender as hell! I'm soooo moody that I thought if I didn't know how I was, I would think I was crazy.. I can't stop eating and I gained so much weight that it's unreal.. and it's only been 2 months.. my skin is definintely clearer and less oily however, my hair is so dry as well since this has affected the oil production on my scalp. My acne wasn't terrible, I just had larger pores and when I got a blemish, I got a blemish- those ingrown cystic ones. Another doozy is I think this gave me a painful bloodclot in my leg-- it kills-- still waiting to see the dr to verify this but that seems to be what it is when I speak to others who have taken this poison... finished my last pill for this cycle of 2 months and I'm done because frankly, I can't take the side effects... it helped one thing, my acne but created a whole bunch of ther problems...now that I am done, I just hope I a) deflate and b)don't break out! Pros: Cleared up my horrible, sometimes cystic acne. Helped normalize my super oily skin. Helped decrease cramps. Helped regularize periods. Cons: Ongoing dry eyes with contact use; Initial dry vaginal experience and lowered libido; initial weight gain but goes away Bottom Line: I absolutely love Diane-35. From I was a little girl, i was always looking for a way to clear up my acne and make my periods more comfortable. These were my two life menaces. I couldn't even eat sugary fruits without it causing acne inflammation, and I won't even go into the real sugary stuff like candy. I know the packet now says that you should discontinue use after 3-4 mths after the acne has cleared, but I tried stopping when my mother discovered that it gave her high blood pressure, but the acne came back some months later. Differin gel is great topical treatment, but I need something internal. I'll have acne for a long time since my mom at 54 still has it. I don't know how I'll be able to give it up since it has helped so much, but I really do not want to experience high blood pressure or blood clots because of it. Pros: Clear beautiful skin, regualr periods Cons: PRICE Bottom Line: I started using diane 35 when I was 18 and continued using it until I was 22. I decided to go off it since my face had cleared up, but a couple months later my acne came back in FULL FORCE! (even worse then before I started). I have been off diane for a year now and my acne is getting better since using cetaphil cleanser, I dont have sever acne just the big ones that hurt on my forehead and alot on my chin. I recently went to the doctor to get a perscription for diane because I just loved my skin when I was on it, and had so much more self confidence when I had clear skin. Hopefully it works just as good the second time around. Just waiting to start it on the first day of my period! I totally recommend diane to anyone that suffers from acne. I LOVED it ! Pros: I am taking diane 35 only 12 days,still waiting the miracle happen. Cons: good appertize and always feel sleepy. Pros: Clear skin, thicker hair Cons: Pumping body full of synthetic hormones on a daily basis. Stopping this product resulted in skin becoming oily (much more than before) and hair falling out in clumps while hormones start natural production and the body attempts to balance itself. Bottom Line: Learn from my mistake and do not use this product for reasons of vanity. It will work while you are on it but the longer term effects of using synthetic hormones are not worth it. It affects the mood, the complexion, the hair, the list goes on. The anxiety I have felt going off this product is not worth it. Anxiety from hormone fluctuations, as well as having to watch my hair fall out in strands for 4 months now, having it noticeably thinner, seeing my skin become oily and pimply. It is not worth it! I have done a lot of reading on hormonal balance since stopping this product and have started seeing a naturopathic doctor to assist in the transition. Pros: clears acne, decrease of growth of facial hair Cons: WEIGHT gain!!!!!!!!!! Bottom Line: I have been on this medication for 4 months now. I have seen positive results for what i have been taking it for, facial hair. My acne cleared too. However, periods definitely don't get easier, i have massive headaches everyday, major thirst and most importanly weight gain!!! I have never been so fat in my life! i have gained over 13 pounds! I would rather recommend YAZ- which my sister is currenly taking and will be most likely switching too. Recommended: No Usage: reb has used this item for a few months.
