I've been on Diane 35 for a month and a half, and I have noticed some weight gain as well as cellulite which really upset me. I came on the pill not having any acne and diane has maintained my healthy skin. Nevetheless, if I would change a company would my weight gain stop, or do you gain weight on any pill?

I have been on the pill for almost 6 years... but have been on Diane for about 3 years. About a year ago I came off of it for 4 months to give my body a break. After 3 months of coming off my acne came back really bad. I went back on again to clear my skin but I really started to pay close attention to how I felt being on it. Yes it made my skin clear, but I gained about 10lbs, I had a very low sex drive (I was fine and wanted it all the time when I was off it) I always felt nausious and had upset stomach a lot,and I started getting really bad pains in the back of my left calf... That's what made me come off of it a second time. I have been off it now for 3 months. The day I stopped I started using Pro-activ so that my pimples wouldn't get as bad. I have only a few but I think the pro-activ really works, I feel great, my sex drive is fine, I have no pain in my calf. And my stomach has been feeling good. The only thing is that I am breaking out on my back. But other than that I am feeling really healthy.

I first started using diane at age 17, took at least 4 months to see a difference but when it kicked it is completely cleared my skin. On the other hand, I gained about 20 pounds due to an increase in appetite and constant binge eating as a result of trying to eat reasonable portions. I became irritatedm depressed and moody. When I went off the pill my mood went back to normal so did my weight after excerise...but i relapsed about a year later.

Diane-35 was a very mixed blessing for me. My skin cleared up completely (this was so nice as I have been on Accutane twice in my life and tried everything else). However, I started to have chronic yeast infections, always triggered by sex (with or without a condom). It took years for me to discover that it was this pill doing this (I did everything -- drastically changed diet, etc. and spent so much money on Diflucan and herbal remedies to fix my 'yeast problem' but nothing worked). Then I went off Diane-35 and had no problems??? Of course, my skin problem returned (with a vengeance) and I freaked out and went back on Diane-35, and found I had again the same chronic yeast infection problems. I write this so anyone who is on Diane-35 and having too many yeast infections might make the connection and save some suffering. I'm not a doctor, but the doctors never made this connection. I noticed the vaginal discharge is less on Diane-- maybe the climate is changed down there and one is made more susceptible to yeast? Just speculating. Also, years of antibiotics for acne make yeast bad too and Diane-35 just exasperated the problem.

I went on Diane-35 with clear skin, though I did suffer from acne a couple of years before. I was on it for 5 years, and though I didn't suffer from breakouts during that time, I became quite irritable and depressed.
I came of Diane about 7 months ago. After about two or 3 months, my face broke out like mad. It's only beginning to improve now. But my moods are much better!
My theory is that coming off Diane creates a hormonal imbalance that is annoying, but temporary. I think if you stick it out, the acne (if caused by hormonal imbalance) will likely clear up on it's own.

i went on diane 35 at the age of 16, and all my acne completely cleared up. after about 2 months my skin looked amazing. but around 3-4 months i started having some moody/depressed side effects, i went off it to see how i would feel. but then almost 1 month later my acne came back, i really regret going off of it. i was so happy with how my skin had turned out, so now im back on the diane 35 pill again

I had previously tried Diane-35 for about 3 months and my skin cleared but I realised I had put on quite some weight. I realised that my appetite has increased way higher than normal, so I stopped. The acne came back badly and in Oct, I went back on it thinking I could control my eating, but have realised that it cannot be so easily controlled, so I went off it and before considering anything else, have decided to work off the extra weight gained.

I had severe acne one summer so i decided to go on Diane-35. So i went on it for about a year, after about two weeks i noticed my skin became a lot less oily and greasy looking. After two and a half months my acne had drastically gone and i had only a couple pimples here and there, but i was left with severe acne scars. I also gained about 8 pounds and i was constantly moody.I stayed on it for about a year and a half and then got off. Three months later my acne had returned and it was severe again. Ive now gone back on and my skin is getting a lot better.

I've been on Diane 35 for three months now. I don't notice any real difference. I don't have any change in mood, breasts or weight. I did notice that the acne moved from my cheeks to my chin, but otherwise no change as of yet.

I was put on Diane 35 when I was 18. At this time I was suffering form excess free testosterone and the result was mild hirsitism and acne. After being on the pill for 3 months the hirsitism completely went away as did the acne I didn't gain any weight if anything I lost weight. About age 21 I noticed a bit of weight gain but people though it looked better as I have always been a bit of a stick...though I also noticed a bit a cellulite ....which has for the most part disappeared..(I thought it wasn't supposed to go figure eh?)...This year (age 21) my doctor put me on Tricyclen due to some bad publicity Diane 35 has received for an increased risk of deep vain thrombosis.(though he still thinks individual risk is quite low..he wanted to try me on something different just incase) Diane 35 was a miracle drug for me and I'm a bit paranoid about using tricyclen as I ahev read some horror stories about it casing HAIR LOSS....if thats the case I'd liek to switch back to Diane 35. If anyone has tried these two pills and has any insight on the differences/ superior pill...or any experience with hair loss on tri cyclen plz let me know!
