Pros Clear Skin
Big Breasts
Cons SEVERE MOOD SWINGS!!
bad cramps
made my thighs so tender
Bottom line DO NOT USE.. the 35 represents the dose of estrogen in the pill and if your like me and have bad pms already then it will litterly make you crazy! I was fine for about the first 2 months but from then on I was crying about everything and anything!! I had severe moodswings and craved sweet things all the time and i don't even like sweets! It got to the point where my mom and boyfriend told me to go to the doctor and get checked cuz they thought something was wrong with me!. I am now on another pill and i feel completely normal. user beware!!

Pros * got rid of all my acne!
* less pain period
* bigger boobs (I naturally have small breasts, so it's better for me ;)
* contraceptive
Cons * boob tension
* opens hunger >> craving food more often.
* dries skin
Bottom line It took me 5-6 months to see the 1st results but since then... zero acne!
I took it for 5 years and then stopped just to see if acne would appear again... it did after 3 months! So I definitely took it again. Diane35 saved my face (and some parts of my back), my acne used to be severe back when I was a teenager.

Pros - clears up acne
- skin and scalp less oily
- can choose to skip the sugar pills
- cheapish
- you need to go off it when trying to get pregnant and when pregnant
- acne comes back when you go off it, in as little as a week
Cons - you have to remember to take it every day (not a problem for me though)
- initially takes a while to work completely (about 3 + months)
- causes mood swings and depression in some women (not me)
Bottom line a pretty good solution if you have oily skin, but not so good for the long term. If you've tried everything, try this, though.

Pros Clears up acne
Provides contraception
Lighter periods
Cons Expensive
Only temporarily solves the problem
Bottom line I've had problems with acne since my teens and am now in my 30s. I have tried Diane 35 in the past for teen acne without much success.This was the last resort before taking roaccutane and has worked brilliantly, even after 5 weeks.

I would definitely recommend it for anyone suffering from hormonal/adult acne!

Pros I never had acne until I was about 20 years old and was on the pill called Levlen.I couldn't get it under control so I saw my GP who recommended Diane.Within 2 weeks my skin began to clear and pretty soon I was acne free.In the beginning it made me nauseas but that passed after about a month.When I was 29 I had to go off the pill for a few months.The acne returned full force. I started taking Diane again.This time it took about 6 months for my acne to clear up. I'll never stop taking it again
Cons When I went off Diane for a short period my skin was so oily and breakouts were worse than ever. After going back on it, it took a long time to start clearing up the acne. I have experienced break through bleeding whilst taking Diane. One period lasted 6 weeks.
Bottom line I will never ever stop taking Diane ever again. A few years back my GP suggested I try a different pill because my acne problem seemed to have disappeared. I took the other pill for 4 days and immediately started breaking out so I went straight back on Diane. I think Diane is the right pill for me but it may not be right for everyone.

Pros Im using the generic Estelle but apparently it's the same. My doctor also put me on epiduo for my acne as well.
-With both of these my once terrible acne is now 50% clear.
- The severe redness my skin once had is 50% better as well which is good :)
Cons -My acne did have a really bad breakout at the starting few weeks of this.
- If I don't take the hormone pills before I go to bed it makes me nauseous.
Bottom line For me it's something I'm sure will continue to work and clear up my acne completely but for now I'm happy with its progress.

Pros Clears hormonal acne
Limited side effects whilst taking it
Cons Messes up your hormones once you go off (hair loss, return of acne)
Bottom line I've never had great skin, went on a few pills on and off from the age of 15. When I turned 19 my acne got suddenly really bad all over my cheeks and chin, and I was desperate to fix it. I went on Diane 35/Estelle in combination with Epiduo and my acne cleared up well within 2-3 months. It never got to the point of a person who doesn't suffer from acne and it never made an impact on my blackheads. I've never liked being on the pill though, makes me fairly bloated and dulls my emotions. I started to read reviews of people who went off Diane so that I would know what to expect, and I was shocked. The overwhelming (and I mean probably 90-95%) portion of people seem to be saying they wish they never went on it due to the effects of going off it. I wish I had read reviews before I went on it in the first place.

I've been off it for around 2 months now. Acne broke out after about a month and a half but didn't get unbearable and has almost cleared now... still worried that its going to get worse as a lot of people say it happens around 3-6 months after. Haven't got my period yet either. And by far the worst side effect of going off, I am loosing my hair! Handfulls each day. I have never experienced this before.

I would recommend trying every topical or natural remedy you can find before pumping hormones like Diane into your body. At the moment I'm taking Evening Primrose Oil, zinc and drinking lots of tea, maybe this is what is keeping the acne at bay for now? For now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't experience what everyone else is seeming to....
