dermabrasion is the gold standard of all skin resurfacing procedures...if done by a very skilled and experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon.

Pros

  • it's good!

Cons

  • downtime would be 4 days...because of the dressing
  • severe
  • for about a year
  • $ 1500
  • I recommend using this treatment.

Cons

  • loss of skin pigment
  • Additional scarring
  • moderately severe
  • $ 500
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.

Please don't do this, there is a reason many dr.s no longer do this surgery. I use to believe it was because they were un fit or something, not good at it.

THAT ISN"T TRUE, the surgery itself just stinks.

The pigmentation loss has left me with so many fewer options to fix my scars. Which mulitiplied, yes, multiplied, there are many more lines now too from the dermabrasion diamond thing. And folks you figure it out, I went to one of the most lifted up derma's on here. Although, I know that derma can get rid of acne in a FLASH, I mean severe cystic acne. But, the dermabrasion is life altering and not for the good.

The surgery is just not worth it, and I have heard and experienced so much negative from this surgery, I have only ever heard of one or maybe two people who say it was good for them.

Pros

  • None

Cons

  • I have 1000x worse scarring than I began with. I am not exaggerating one bit either! I have loss of pigment on both sides of my face, especially in the jawline. Folks, I am as white as you can get, very fair skinned. IVORY.
  • $ 5000
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.

I had upper lip dermabration for wrinkles one month ago. After the procedure it looked like I ate a jelly doenut...very bloody. It took about ten days for for a scab to form and fall off. The skin is now very pink/red,swollen,itchy, and smoother at this time. I will let you know if this improves next month. I sure hope so...my daughter is getting married in March.

Pros

  • Not sure yet.

Cons

  • Very painfull, itchy, and red. I was not prepared for this long recovery.
  • for a day or two
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.

I wasted $6,000. Before I had minimal scarring that I was obsessed about on the left side of my face. Now I have 4X that amt, from the bottom of my cheekbones to my jaw line, I now have saucer and lines.I researched & waited yrs. PLEASE don't do this

By the way, it seems no matter how long you have been going to the doctor and no matter how reputable, you are still a number and they somehow, remember your acne scars as worse before the surgery. HA.

Pros

  • The pros are, I have no more freckles and no more forehead lines.

Cons

  • I wasted $6000, I now have 4x the scars I started with.
  • severe
  • for a few months
  • $ 6000
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.
