| Pros | Use as an all over body lotion after a shower...................keeps skin nice and soft and helps prevent pimples and wrinkles. Face may look shiny at first, but by morning, it looks refreshed and soft . |
|---|---|
| Cons | none |
| Bottom line | I have been using coconut oil for years and it works great..............better than proactive and alot cheaper too. Paid about 8 dollars for the organic kind would highly recommend it. A jar lasts for a long time. |

| Pros | Cheap, seems to already be working after just a few days, smells nice |
|---|---|
| Cons | none, really |
| Bottom line | I have suffered with severe cystic acne on my back and shoulders for 25 years. Nothing helped, and believe me, I tried everything. The jury is still out, but after only 5 days, the coconut oil is already improving the existing nodules, and no new ones are emerging. Keeping my fingers crossed. I love it so far, and the price cannot be beat! |

| Pros | Works well, multi-purpose, relatively inexpensive and natural. |
|---|---|
| Cons | none. |
| Bottom line | If you get coconut oil please get ORGANIC, VIRGIN COCONUT OIL. It is about $13.00 for a jar that will last you forever! That's well worth the price and the lower quality kind will clog your pores instead of helping. I don't use it as a face lotion though, what I do is put a dab on blemishes. It sounds weird but it dries them up and they heal faster. I also use it once a week kind of like OCM. I massage it onto a clean face for a few minutes then take it off with a hot washcloth. It loosens blackheads etc.. and I follow that with a clay mask. It works great! Coconut oil is also a great conditioning treatment for hair and a good body moisturizer. Can't go wrong. |

| Pros | great mousturizer, helped bring acne to a head and seems to be helping prevent new blemishes |
|---|---|
| Cons | somewhat greasy, have to wipe it off after awhile |
| Bottom line | Using this has made a difference. My face is not red and irritated looking anymore. When I do get pimples, they go away faster b/c the oil helps it come to a head. Coconut oil has antibacteiral properties, you do need to go the extra mile and purche the extra virgin organic kind. |

| Pros | Very soothing, helps moisturize, skin looks and feels smooth. Actually smells nice too. |
|---|---|
| Cons | A bit greasy when it's applied. |
| Bottom line | I use the Spectrum brand organic unrefined coconut oil. About $10 for a huge jar that will probably last for months. Unrefined seems to be the key, so avoid the refined stuff. According to the label, it suggests rinsing it off an hour later, which is probably a good idea. Doesn't seem to cause breakouts if you rinse it off. I wouldn't say it seems to have a tremendous effect on treating existing bumps, it seems to be better for moisturizing, cleansing, and preventing new bumps. Although it's waxy in the jar, it melts on your skin. I just apply it after washing with water, find something to do for a while that doesn't involve putting my face on something, and rinse with warm water after an hour or so. |

| Pros | Moisturizing, natural |
|---|---|
| Cons | Stays kinda greasy for a while... maybe a few hours. |
| Bottom line | I wash with all natural soap, apply raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar with a cotton ball, wait for it to dry and then use my finger tips to rub about 1/3 of a teaspoon of extra virgin coconut oil all over my face at night. I kind of pat off the excess but leave my face a little shiny. It soaks in by morning. IT'S ACTUALLY WORKING!!! YAY!!! I seriously wish I could post pictures on here. It's amazing. I'm SOOOOOOO excited!!! All the normal stuff for acne makes your skin burn and itch and way too flaky for makeup to cover anything, not to mention the idea of all that junk soaking into your skin and polluting your body. But this is natural, simple, smells great, and is giving me GREAT SKIN!!! SWEET! |

| Pros | Sinks right into the skin--better than jojoba does, for me. Super-moisturizing and healing without being greasy. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Not for use during the day, because it starts to smell kind of gross by the end of the day. Also it's too heavy unless it's winter or you have much dryer skin than mine. Sometimes gives me a couple whiteheads in the morning, but not usually. |
| Bottom line | ONLY use unrefined/virgin coconut oil!!! It may seem a little more expensive but considering that it's sold in jars sized for cooking, it's still INCREDIBLY cheap if you use it on your skin. And the refined oil is worthless for skincare. I put a generous amount on at night, give it a minute to sink in, then pat off the excess with a towel. It's so cheap that I can use a lot and not pull at my skin too much. |

| Pros | great moisturizer! |
|---|---|
| Cons | greasy. may be hard to find in a store for some people. usually cheap. |
| Bottom line | i use this every night and after i take a shower. dont use it in the morning since it'll make your face look shiny. i always leave it on and nothing happened to me? other posters said it caused whiteheads but im fine... i got mine from an Indian store its nothing fancy or organic, but try it and see if it works for you. if you want to heal some serious dryness and redness i recommend it! works great elsewhere too. i have eczema and it helps a lot. $5 for 20 oz! dont worry if it looks solid in the bottle, once you put it on your skin it melts. kinda cool. hehe |
