I was prescribed Clindamycin Pledgets by my doctor during a yearly wellness visit. I told the doctor that I had seen a dermatologist and nothing had seemed to work. (I have had seasonal acne on and off since about age 10 and I’m 20 now…wondering why I still get it!) I began using the Clindamycin Pledgets right away after washing my face with a benzoyl-peroxide cleanser, and within about two days I noticed a difference. My skin was very clear until my fourth week of treatment when my face began to breakout, leading to a pre- Clindamycin look. Overall it may help control acne for people with certain types of skin, but the acne can come back.

Pros

  • Stopped new acne from forming.
  • Old acne went away.
  • Easy to apply.

Cons

  • Acne comes back. (Maybe building a resistance to the Clindamycin?)
  • May not be a permanent solution.
  • moderate
  • for about a month
  • $ 7
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I suffered from acne from my early teens to my adulthood. I tried everything from the face wash/creams you buy in the grocery store, to drinking lemon water, to going to the dermatologist. I can 100% say that this product changed my life for the better. Now that I am in my early 20's I just get hormonal acne, right around the chin/mouth/upper forehead. I am prone to getting the huge under the skin embarassing acne. Nothing ever helped it until this product. All I do is wash my face with an oil free/sensitive cleaner in the morning and night and then right before bed every night I apply this cream. Just when I thought my social life was over, it changed my life forever. I would recommend this to everyone.

Pros

  • Cheap
  • Gets rid of acne very quickly
  • Doesn't smell

Cons

  • Leaves face dry if you have dry skin - but nothing that can't be fixed with moisturizer
  • moderately severe
  • for about a year
  • $ 5

I got this product for free because my aunt is a pharmacist so she gave me this bottle of clindamyvin phosphate topical lotion %. I think it works great but if you have sensitive or very dry skin. Do not use it!

Pros

  • No medical smells
  • Reduce the size of pimples
  • Get rid of SOME pimples

Cons

  • Dry skin out
  • severe
  • for a day or two
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I've suffered from deep, angry hormonal acne on my chin and cheeks for as long as I can remember. You know, the unpoppable kind that taunts you in the mirror.

I firmly believe that the Clindets Pledgets that my doc prescribed (in combination with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide which is proven to be more effective than either of them alone) is responsible for finally clearing up my face. It's amazing! It took 1-2 months to start working but I seriously went from having at least a dozen painful zits on my face to nothing at all! My scars have even faded considerably.

My nightly skin care routine:

1. Wash with Clean & Clear Foaming Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin

2. Wipe with Clindets Pledgets

3. Apply 2.5% Spectro Vanishing Lotion for Sensitive Skin

4. Moisturizer with Neutrogena Moisture Oil Free for Sensitive Skin

In the morning, I just wash and moisturizer.

Hope this works as well for you as it seems to be for me!!

Pros

  • No more deep, hormonal acne on my chin or cheeks
  • Easy to use with no mess
  • Cheap

Cons

  • Smells
  • Drying at first but your face will adjust; need to moisturize
  • Takes time to see results; patience required!
  • moderate
  • for a few months
  • $ 12
  • I recommend using this treatment.

About 10 months ago my skin went crazy. Im 24 and have had acne since i was 15. Some years worse than others. But this time it was bad, not just new acne but when it came up it got so inflamed it made my whole face bright red even under makeup. I went to the Doctor and she put me on birth control and Cindamycin lotion. I stopped using the lotion at first, it felt too light and i had very dry skin so i felt like i needed something more intense. The birthcontrol helped a lot, but when i did have new acne pop up it got very infected looking and my skin was still dry and flakey as always. I had a friend who works in a spa tell me that i needed to try a light lotion because the heavy stuff was stressing my skin out. So i pulled out the cindamycin, at first my skin got even more dry but then after a week or so, i noticed the redness and dryness was pretty much gone. I love this stuff because it works so well for me and only cost me $7 a month, my old lotion was $30 and never worked half as well even just on dryness. Now my skin is amazing, almost never dry, red and any acne is pretty rare. I also started using a dermaroller a month ago to help with my slight scars and i love it! If i use the cindamycin right after i do the dermaroller i can feel it absorb deep and wake up the next day with perfect even skin. I just wish i had figured out this system years ago.

Pros

  • Works for me. Very good for dry skin. Reduces redness. Cost

Cons

  • Took a week or two for my skin to like it.
  • moderate
  • for about a year
  • $ 7
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I only keep using this product to make sure I have some sort of antibacterial protection during the day. It doesn't clear anything up but is somewhat preventative.

Pros

  • Inexpensive generic available
  • Usual topical antibiotic benefits

Cons

  • No big changes
  • moderate
  • for more than a year
  • $ 10
  • I recommend using this treatment.

This made my acne worse and the quality of my skin awful!!!

Pros

  • Nothing

Cons

  • When I first started using this product it worked and got rid of my pimples quickly. However just when I thought I was done with acne 3 new pimples emerged I kept using it though hoping the acne would go away since that's what the dermatologist said. More and more pimples came and took longer than ever to go down. I sill have some of the pimples from a month ago!!!
  • moderate
  • for about a month
  • $ 5
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.

This is the best medicine I have used for my acne so far! Nothing ever helped me, any antibiotics or lotions, creams (and I tried so many!), this was the best thing that started to clear my face and no more new breakouts. I also tried Clindamycin lotion (that I was given by mistake, I asked for solution) and it didnt help but I went back to ask for solution and it helped right away. I used this solution 3 times in my life, however it helps only for the first 1-3 months only. Therefore I no more ask for this product.

Pros

  • Works amazing for the first 2 months
  • Easy to apply (Cleaocin-T solution)
  • Comes in a bottle with roll-on application
  • Use morning and eveing
  • Does not sting or smell
  • Cheap in US

Cons

  • Expensive in Canada
  • Does not work later on, after about 2-3 months
  • light
  • for more than a year
  • $ 15
  • I recommend using this treatment.

This product helps control acne and bacteria but does not completely clear skin. It's good for people with moderate or light acne best.

Pros

  • Does not dry or irritate skin
  • Lasts long time
  • Not too expensive

Cons

  • Makes skin look shiny
  • Tastes horrible (gets on lips)
  • Doesn't clear all acne or prevent new pimples
  • moderately severe
  • for a few months
  • $ 40
  • I recommend using this treatment.
