This stuff is bloody awful. It stinks of chemical, and doesn't work. Granted thats only for my skin type, but hey - its minging stuff.

I am 33 and experiencing acne for the first time in my life; I have always had the occasional pimple or two, but my face has become utterly blanketed with tiny hard bumps. These "pimples" are not generally inflamed (red or painful), but my skin feels like it is infested--it also feels like there might be some strange message written in braille... I am using clindamycin in conjunction with adapalene. After one month of religious use (and an initial period of irritated and dry skin), my acne totally cleared up. However, I woke up one morning to have it all back. Recently, I have decided to wash my face very very gently (I use a non-soap cream cleanser without a washcloth or any other abrasive material) morning and night and to use adapalene in the evenings and to use the clindamycin only in the mornings--my dermatologist suggested using it morning and night, but I think this regimen aggravated my skin too much. I also use a moisturizing sunscreen (SPF 30) every morning to minimize skin damage and shedding. After two weeks of the gentler approach, I've started seeing a reduction in my bumps and have some hope. I don't think clindamycin is a wonder-drug by any means, but I think it can help. The key seems to be relaxing a little bit and avoiding the harsh cleansing measures that seem like a good idea when all you want to do is scrape your skin off in hopes that a totally fresh and clear layer will appear. I've decided that the "give it some time" approach that dermatologists recommend is probably the best way to beat this problem, even though it's a challenge to be patient. I wish everyone the best in the quest for clear skin...

I am a 25 year old female that has never experienced acne until I entered my twenties. I have mild to moderate acne, some papules and the occasional cyst that hurts a lot. My derm prescribed this for me and I saw no difference whatsoever. My skin remained just the same.

Between the ages of 15-17, I had acne pretty bad, mostly cheeks, lip area, etc. I went just fine without acne again until I was 23, and I was back at square one...except it was limit to only the forehead area. I've had bad acne on my forehead for 2.5 years, and every home remedy I tried just would not work. I switched shampoo, conditioner, hair styling (went to very short bangs), etc, and _nothing_ would work. I gave in and went to the doctor last month. At this point, it was somewhat better - maybe 5 whiteheads every week. I told the doctor about it and he prescribed this. I waited a month to see if the acne would go away on its own - it didn't. I filled this prescription 3 days ago. I applied it that night. The next morning I had no new acne. I've been applying it 2x a day since then...no acne. If you've been prescribed this, and are afraid about what other people are saying - don't be. It's been perfect for me. It's greasy for about 5-10 minutes after application but it's fine after that. Despite the warnings, I did not notice it "getting worse before it gets better". Don't hesitate, but don't get impatient.
It only costs $45 (walgreens), so anyone can afford it. Seriously, if you have to give up your beer/cigarettes/makeup for the week to afford it, do it!

Lives in Sweden so I've used a solution with 10 mg/ml... Called Dalacin.
Anyway, it cleared out my face really great. I had cysts and nodules, not that many, but deep... As I remember it I hardly had any non-inflammatoric acne.. Just on my cheek. However, after three months I couldn't keep using it, and these small whiteheads and etc appeared. It's been a few weeks since I stoped using Dalacin, and all my blackhead's have come back too, but I've just got a few inflamed pimples.. Hopefully I wont get any more.
Oh, and did I mention? My face loved it.. No sideeffects whatsoever.. Perhaps a bit dry, but compared to bp, wich I tried before, it was heaven! :D
My doctor said it would be about a 50/50 chance that the acne would come back post medication. I'll start taking it again in about a week... And hopefully get rid of the small pimples etc aswell.
But it worked, atleast for the moment. Worth a try..

Im 23y old and my acne has always been moderate. I've never suffered from cysts or anything, but I still had SEVERE confidence problems. I wouldnt leave the house. I would make up excuses to avoid socialising with my friends, going to uni and work and even meeting my boyfriend because of the state of my skin.
Was put on dianette in October 04 and it worked great for the first three months - no spots!! went on holiday and everything.
Just before my period my acne would flare up with a vengence. Doctor put me on Dalacin T lotion 2xday along with the dianette. Have been on it from January 05 and it hasent done a dam thing to help my skin.
I always seem to get the spots in the same place on my cheeks right beside my nose, and they cover all over. Theres no hiding them. Going to doctor tomorrow to see if she will put me on antibiotic tablets or something. Sick to death of acne stopping me from living my life!!!!

Worked great for the first year. I used it along with Diferin. All my acne cleared up, however, the effect has worn off. I think it stops working after a while as the acne finds ways to resist the antibiotic.

I used this product (0.1% in a lotion) for YEARS with Retin-a (0.05% cream). When it worked, it worked great! However, I noticed that its efficacy seemed to slip off around year two or so. So, for most of the treatment, I usually had on or two lesions on my face. Sure, they were small, but I wanted NONE. Good luck to all of you, and stay strong!
