i have been using clindamycin lotion for 5 weeks now. i saw an immediate improvement after 2 days of using, but then after a week i saw my spots coming back. i carried on using it, and i had little white heads appearing everyday. However after about 3 weeks the whiteheads stopped coming and my face was very clear. i never had acne as a teengager, i developed it at 20 (i am now 21) and although it was only mild i found it very distressing. after 5 weeks i am still get a couple of pimples but nothing anyone would notice as they are much smaller ones. i do get greasy skin from it and that is the only draw back. i went to the doctor today and got the gel form, gonna start using that and see if its less greasy. anyway good for mild acne, but considering it doesnt get rid of everything id not recommend it for medium to bad acne.

Not very effective. I've been on it around 2 months now and see very little effect. I'm 19 male. I also take 1,000 MGs of Tetracycline a day & wash with an 8% BP Creamy Face Wash.

Clindamycin seems to make my face produce a lot more oil, as well.

It definitely does nothing to get rid of previous red spots.

Oh, well. Search continues.

i think clindamycin works okay for the oily parts of your face or for people with generally oily skin. it tends to dry out everything it touches. i've used the lotion form and the liquid form and prefer the lotion (it's a little less drying). be sure to use a good moisturizer afterwards. as for the acne fighting properties, there's definitely better stuff out there if you have more than mild acne. pretty cheap with insurance for me ($4 copay) and doesn't have much of an odor.

This is an affliction for oily skin! After complaining to my doctor, he prescribed me Benzaclin... so....

TRY BENZACLIN!!!!! (combo of Benzoyl Peroxide & Clindamycin)
It works SO MUCH BETTER.

it's true. this medication can control acne, but at the expense of oilier and redder skin. used clindamycin for a year plus and cleared up my acnes. but then my skin esp near the nose became red and ultrasensitive to sunlight. just a few mins and oil start to surface. it's bad. luckily my skin texture and color improves after peeling

How well it works: 5-- I use this product in the solution form. I don't use it twice daily (as prescribed) because it's drying and has some side effects, but I use it as needed, as a quick fix for the nasty breakouts that I want to get rid of fast.

Agreeability: 2--I rated the solution as a 2 because when I used it as directed (twice daily) it REALLY dried my skin out and gave me some not-so-pleasant side effects. If you use this, I recommend using it along with a really good moisturizer.

Affordability: 5--I don't know how affordable this drug is if you have to pay market price for it. Because my health insurance covers most of it I only had to pay $12 for it.

I've used this stuff for almost 2 years now and I'd have to say that it's alright. It hasn't helped to clear up my acne, but it didn't make it any worse also. For me, it just seems to keep it under control.

I don't know how much I can attribute to just the Evoclin, since I use this product every morning and Differin gel several nights a week, but I do like it.

It has been about five weeks and my skin is much clearer than it has been in years, and I'm in my mid-twenties. This isn't "puberty" acne, this was adult acne that was embarassing and gross.

The Differin burned my skin at first, but I have had no problems with the Evoclin. It's a foam, and feels very light, almost as though I had nothing on. Makeup goes on very smoothly over it. My skin used to be very oily and I would have that shiny look by lunch, but not anymore.

The foam does not come in generic form, and is not particularly cheap. Before insurance, a 100 g bottle is $140.(I rated affordability a 3--- my copay on this was only $15.) A little bit goes a long way, though, and judging by how long I have used the tiny sample bottle from the doctor, the 100 g bottle should last close to a year, if used just once a day. The trick is to dispense the foam into the cap and then apply. If you dispense into your hands, your body heat will melt the foam, it will run, and you will have to use more.

I have used Clindamycin for about 5 years and have had wonderful results, but in the past year I had problems with my hormones which caused the acne to get 10xs worse, I had never had acne like this. At this point the Clindamycin didn't help at all. I was put on birth control, and given Spironolactone 50mg twice a day. I continued all 3 for about 3 months before seeing a big difference. Now it seems to be under control. Clindamycin works really well for me now that my hormones are in check. Now I just get a pimple or two every once in a while and they don't stay as long. I also had to be very gentle with my skin no harsh abbrasive scrubs or hard rubbing with bath clothes. I gently massage my skin with a mild aloe vera soap. My skin looks so much better and feels great too.
