I used this product (0.1% in a lotion) for YEARS with Retin-a (0.05% cream). When it worked, it worked great! However, I noticed that its efficacy seemed to slip off around year two or so. So, for most of the treatment, I usually had on or two lesions on my face. Sure, they were small, but I wanted NONE. Good luck to all of you, and stay strong!

When I was about twelve(almost 15 now), I tried Clindamycin
with a very gentle Clearasil soap. It started out wotking
really well, and it felt really nice. But after a while it
just stopped, and it was just like I was putting really
watery cream on my face. Plus my skin started to get really
oily, wich I hate. I got it free though, 'cause our insurance covers a lot of prescriptions, but I wouldn't
recommend it, it just doesn't work that well.

PS. Also just found out that a lot of acne medications(Topical anyway) can go through your skin and cause some
serious conditions(Serious or fatal colitis, Cushing's syndrome etc.).

Cleared up my chin/jaw within a month, doesn't stop skin getting oily, but does stop oils causing spots. A really nice product, great for mild/moderate cysts.
The only side-effect has been that my skin can burn in the and dry-out in the sun easily, so remember the sunscreen people!

I thought it worked for thr first 6 months or so, but I haven't noticed any change in facial or body acne for a while. I think it stopped working. I was using clyndamycin by itself 2x day.

As of now I have moderate going on severe acne. I am using Zoderm 8.5% cleanser which dries out the skin horribly, also use Benza-clin(aka Duac)terrific for open and closed comedoes)and regular acne vulgaris but quickly dries your skin! in the morning (clindamycin 1%, Benzoyl peroxide 5%) works great but does add to the drying effect to Zoderm. I use cleocin-T pledgets, I take Doryx 100mg(doxycycline), then at night I wash with Zoderm and use retin-a 0.025%. The retin-a has not been a success yet but is ok. A 5 on a scale of 1-10 Benzaclin definitly a 9. I think the creams containing an antibiotic and benzoyl peroxide (benzamycin, benzaclin, benzamycin pak, rosula) are the best solution for keeping acne under control. Or just an antibiotic as a cream (eryderm,cleocin-t phosphate, sulfur). My best treatment was probably Glycolix 15% wash, Duac gel,Tazorac cream.

I have been on the Clindamycin gel for almost 2 months, I feel that my skin has not gotten any better. It looked good after the first 2 weeks, but now after 2 months my skin has gotten worse and my zits from before are now more cystic then ever. I am tired of bad skin, and I found this website while researching accutane treatments.

Worked really well for a few months, but now not so well. My skin has tolerated it very well, except it does make ny skin a little slimy feeling. I have noticed an increase in clogged pores too.

It took a while to work (the clindets) and it left my skin really dry and yucky the first month but it has worked wonders and cleared up my skin nicely. I stopped using for a week though and ance started to come back a bit. But I am also on tetracycline and differin. I totally recommend this regimen. It just takes time!
