Pros None
Cons I had a facial peel prescribed to me by a dermatologist done yesterday morning and suffered severe 2nd degree burns due to it. I am certainly never doing this again if my face ever goes back completely normal.
Bottom line Be warned, dermatologists are not to be always trusted.

Pros A great exfoliator.
Cons Can e really drying.
Bottom line I used to go to the derm once every two weeks to get a peel. I did it for almost 7 months and relized that I could by the Glycolic Peel online at [link removed]. Be careful though, my skin reacted well to it, others can really harm their skin by doing it at home. However, its going to take several treatments and scars are only going to lighten.

Plus, the estitician I saw 3 weeks ago was appalled that American derms do this for young ppl. If your scars aren't too deep, the skin have natural healing ability. With the right holistic methods, skin will smooth by itself. 3 weeks of herbal creme from europe and what those peels didnt do, the kreme seriously already is begining to do.

Pros At-home TCA peel 12.5%. I found this peel on the internet and I love it. It was only about $30 for a 1 ounce bottle (over 10 peels) and I have seen better results than with the lasers for not even a fraction of the cost.
Cons With a mild peel only a little bit of peeling and redness. Does take about a week before skin is completely back to normal though.
Bottom line If you have mild rolling/icepick scars from acne that you had in your early teens this will definitely help. I would recommend getting a mild TCA peel (I got mine on Makeup Artists Choice) and doing it yourself. Combine it with an AHA cream/lotion and you will see even better results. I am saving hundreds of dollars and I have never been more satisfied with any other procedure (Fraxel and other non-ablative lasers and microdermabrasion). If you are fed up with Dr.'s that don't really listen or pay attention to what you want, I would go this route! I love being in control of the outcome and targeting the EXACT areas that bother me!

Pros My medical insurance covered the cost of the peel. Had a salicylic peel at the dermatologist's office.
Cons Stinged a more longer in areas of my face. Left the office with SO much moisturizer that I looked completely greased up.
Bottom line It brought to the surface all of the whiteheads and blackheads that were hiding. You look worse before you get better but it was mild enough that you can deal with it. I WILL get it done again esp since I only had to pay my co-pay for my medical insurance.

Pros Not quite sure yet, since it's only been three days. But my skin is soft to the touch where it's peeled and a few spots have lightened.
Cons Harsher than it's described. I wasn't told my face would stay red. I'm afraid it'll be worse than before.
Bottom line I got a Vi Peel. After a few seconds, there is a numbing effect. About 30 minutes later it started to burn and burned for the rest of the night.

I had a big audition two days later. Part of my face was brown, part red and part peeling. I was told I could wear makeup. It looked weird so I started to peel the flaky areas. Big mistake. I hope I didn't ruin the results. The area wasn't ready yet and became super red and sensitive. I numbed the area and put on makeup. I hope I don't break out or scar now. I tried to remove all the makeup, but who knows. The peeled areas still hurt. I can't use the moisturizer they gave me because it burns. The sunscreen burns. Aloe burns. Water burns. If you get it done, be okay with looking weird for a week. It's a lot more potent than they make it out to be.

Pros Smoother skin and Reduced redness
Cons Flaky, Tightiness on the face and Embarrassing 3 or 4 days after the peel.
Bottom line I started to have acne when I was 16 and it is just became part of my life. Proactive, Murad, AcneFree etc. they all did reduced my ance breakout but I never good the same clean face look and had some scars and red spots.

I tried this chemical V-treatment. And, its been only 6 days that I had my first peel and my old scards are fading away. I look much better with less scar and red spotted face. Few people have noticed it and commented on my skin. So I am feeling better. (

Hopefully, after my 2nd and 3rd peel. It will get better and better!. Just waiting to see clear smooth face.

Pros Skin Vitalize Peel...Smooth, baby soft skin. Acne and acne marks lessened
Cons Can be expensive but worth it if you buy the package
Bottom line Everyone's skin will react differently to this peel. For me, this peel has saved me from hiding out in my house as I once did. I have much more confident. In my last year of college I broke out horribly and then a year later I heard about this I decided to give this a shot. It's been a year now since my first peel and it has made such a significant difference for me and my face. You have to have patience and give it shot.
