I have had 3 Jessner peels performed at my dermatologist office and it is by far the best thing I've ever done. I've only started having breakouts in my mid-20s, and years of cystic acne (only 2 or 3 at a time, very sporadic) left red marks and indentions. I have tried everything else (every product under the sun and expensive facials) and NOTHING has controlled the breakouts, evened out my skin tone, and eliminated red marks/shallow scars, the way these peels have.

I have tried many treatments. I was recently told that the blue peel would give me good results. It didn't it was a big waste of money. Almost $1000.00 don't do it.

I tried a chemical peel once but it was not the full strength because my face was broke out. It sure did get flaky for several days. I did not see a change but I am going to try the full one and see how that goes. It did not make my face red or itchy. It was just peeling, did not feel like dry skin. Was happy with the fact that it did not hurt. Just was not enough for my scarred skin. Thanks I will keep you posted!!

I've always had nice skin through out my teens and now that I'm in my early twenties I began to get 1-2 pimples here and there at a time.. This did not bother me too much as it was only a couple at a time and did not last long. However, as time went on they left more and more red marks that accumilated over time, and hardly fade after over 6 months, but by then those couple that fade i've already got tons more for. I'm a very light complexion, so these small red spots are very apparent on my skin. When I cover them with make up, usually if it's not being hit by sunlight, no one can even notice them.. But I hate having to wear make up to hide them.

Thus, I tried the tca chemical peel last week... I had 3 repetive days of application last Mon-Wednesday.. I was told that I would feel discomfort and redness.. so far- nothing.. I have been properly using everything that was included in the kit. I was told I would start peeling by this coming wednesday. Righ now I have dry flaky skin around my chin and cheeks, but I don't know if thats how its peeling or it jus dry? In general my skins the same 4 days after my last application, other than what i think is dryness.. But I'm begining to wonder if this thing worked at all? Did I just waste time and money? not to mention the down time i took off from work and missed a few classes.. I'll be soo fustrated if I don't peel and nothing comes of it.. Does anyone have any advice thats had a tca peel before?

I had a double Jesner peel done and I saw a vast improvment in my rolling scars. I only had 2 or 3 but they are barely visible now. It also improved my current breakout, and my skin has been relatively clear for the past month. It cost about $200, and it was well worth it. I would recommend this procedure to anyone. However, if you are prone to fever bisters, make sure you tell them to stay away from your lips and/or take fever blister medication before you do it. Good luck!!

What kind of peels are most of you talking about? There are three types of peels. SUPERFICIAL PEEL where you go back about once a month but does not work that well for acne scars MEDIUM PEEL (TCA) which is better for acne scarring or a PHENOL PEEL, the deepest kind of peel (which is more for heavy wrinkles but more dangerous with scarring and pigmentation loss. I will be going to get a medium peel and would like to know if anyone has got a medium TCA peel?! Seems like most ppl here have got superficial peels which wont do anything for indented scarring.

I have had lifelong acne. I've tried everything from special washs to antibiotics to accutane (3 times). My acne came on in full force and I had wanted to go back on accutane for some relief but my doctor refused. I had no other option but to try the chemical peels. I have to admit that the peels were helpful but you need to do it more than a few times to see results. It did decrease the acne scars and decrease the actual acne but it did not eliminate it. I could never say that there wasn't any acne on my face at one time. The problem with chemical peels is that if you have chronic acne and your genetics have dealt you the hand of never getting over it in your teens you need to continue with the peels indefinetly. Chemical peels are expensive and for the most part your going to have your face peeling and reddened for at least one week out of every month. In my opinion if you can afford to fork out a couple hundred dollars every five to six weeks (which I can't) go for it but it won't solve your acne or blemish problem

I have done 3 tca peels 30% and have had excellent results. My scars were slightly atrophic but the discoloration was the worst part. If you can take a week off from school or work, I highly recommend you try it, even if it is not such a high dose. I can now peel myself with a 40% and have no redness afterward. Just stick with it!

I have had 3 peels now and it has worked out great for me probably b/c all I have left now are red marks and some indentations, the peels have definately lightened the redness and softed the marks from bad breakouts. Peels aren't for everyone though, there is a lot of down time and it is expensive. I recommend the peels for people who have some time to kill and just want to smooth out minor imperfections.
