My chemical peel worked wonders for me. I a bronze skin tone and after breakouts had left over brown marks. After doing a few lactic acid peels many went away. Now I only have 2 dark spots left and my skin has never looked more even tones!

Me had acne scarring. Me took minocycline, which make skin more sensitive to skin, and then me went skiing and got severely sunburnt. It blistered, and when me peel away dead skin, scarring be much better. Me recommend take minocycline/sulfa/other medicine that make you skin sun-sensitive, and go ski when sunny, and get as burned as possible, and then you skin will blister and you will peel away dead outer layer of skin and you scarring will be better. You may have to get sun-burnt multiple time to work.

22/white/female. I just got my second chemical peel. I thought the first one worked pretty well, although my dermatologist was surpised that I got so much better after just one, and she thinks I won't have to have another one after this one. Right now my face is peeling around my chin, blotchy in some places, and rough and discolored on my cheeks where it will be peeling off tomorrow and the next day. It's a little itchy, but sometimes my topical stuff seems to itch worse (tazorac gel). It does burn when it's being applied, but I just try to think about how it's really burning off my scars and zits. Also, you do get white patches for the first hour or so, at least I did, and you need to moisturize and use sunscreen, obviously. There were a couple places on my face where the improvement of the first one was realy noticeable. I used to have these scars on my chin which were practically purple they were so deep, but right before my second chemical peel they were pink and almost blended into the rest of my skin.

I have been doing microderm and glycolic peels for a few months now, I purchased a package deal which cost about 500 dollars for 5 treatments of both. I have to say at first I thought it was a total waste of money because my skin looked awful and red blochy like. but I went ahead a contiuned the treatments and after the third treatment my skin is so much better people have asked if I have changed my hair color because my complexion pops. I still have some acne scarring but I am hoping to get my acne under control with the antiboics I am now taking for cystic acne and I do recommend doing 3 or more treatments before giving up on the peels completely

I am an African woman 23 years old. I have had many chemical peels and if you have acne scars, SAVE YOUR MONEY. They will not do much for smoothing your skin. Actually, one chemical peel left me with a lighter spot on my face that is permanent. I would not recommend any dark-skinned person have a chemical peel at all.

I am 27/male Indian. I had BHA Chemcial peel at Home and it Turned bad. I got to stay home due to Peeling condition. I was scared after peel and went to dermatolgist. He suggested some medication and did say anything after peel treatment. After the Skin peeled i felt really amazing. I said wow 100 times for 2 Day. I was using SPF45 sun blocker. After 1 week i had black spots on the Face and complete skin discoloration. This is really bad and may effect my life now. Please think about chemical peels before you do it at home.

I am 19 and I had salicylic peels last year for my acne scars and it worked wonders....i generally dont pop my acne and that helped as well...and by last october i was like completely free of even a blackhead absolutely clean with no mark nothing... still i took one peel for maintanence..... and then unfortunately i had a small break out to spoil the fun but I was pretty much confident that the peel will work again for me but the thing is that my skin no longer reacts to it and my dermatologist is not ready to go for higher one because of my skin colour(asian) thats y i am worried and waiting for some other solutions.... does anyone know why is the peel not reacting..

I have had SEVERE acne scarring and discoloration due to acne breakouts. I had 2 Beta-LiftX Salicylic Acid peels done this month. The scarring nightmare has gone on for 10 months and has been pure hell. I have come to the conclusion that if you suffer from disfiguring acne scars you're out of luck b/c there is no way to cure them. You can only fade them. More research needs to be done on how to fix skin damage and it is not being done! Collagen can only temporarily move the damaged scar to the surface level if it is depressed and while it may allow your retinoid medications to fade the scar easier, it is not worth the money. Collagen or any other injection is not a natural way to fix the skin. Chemical peeling causes a reaction in your skin that triggers it to shed its outer layer and regenerate the skin so is a much more natural solution to fixing scars than collagen. If you are choosing between collagen and chemical peels please go with chemical peels. Unfortunately my results with chemical peeling were minimal, but each time you have them done they will fade every problem more and more. It ultimately takes several chemical peels to get results I think. Massaging the scars daily with retinoids seems to produce the best results however it is important to control excess skin oil and preven breakouts at all costs so the skin can heal and the scars can fade. Chemical peels may accomplish this task better than injectables.

I am on day to of a Jessner peel. My face looks really bad to me, but others say it is not so bad. I do not know how well it will work on my scarring yet, but it is certainly doing something.

I went for a medical grade facial which was explained as a one time special of 40% off. During the facial they gave me a gylocolic peel which I thought was a mask (i've had masks that stung). I was sent home with no instructions or warning & had no idea my face the next day would look the way it does. It feels like sand paper, the forhead and cheeks as my husband says looks like I have road rash (all scabbed up)& my forhead hurst and stings. I am very worried it my scar. Also, when I paid for my facial they said they locked my in at the 40% off price of $105 (what a scam). I called them and they had me come in & gave me some topicals to apply and told me I would need another in a few weeks, I am so angry. I highly recommend not done a peel
