I’ve had “problem skin (that description doesn’t quite cut it) since I was 11, I’m now 23 and this is still causing problems. The worst time for me was between the ages of 13 and 17. My acne is slowly going away, and I mean slowly. I’ve tired every product under the sun and most of the stuff is just another form of soap. I have tired Proactive Solution which worked for about 4 months, I think my skin adapted and overcame the stuff. :P
As I said, I’m now 23 and I’m beyond tired of acne. It’s not nearly as bad as it used to be but it’s still there and I still frequently get breakouts. On average I have I’d say about 5 or more zits on my face at a time and on the rare occasion I might have a day or 2 where I’m down to 2 to 3 but that doesn’t last very long.
I read an article about Cetaphil and decided to give it a try, heck I’ve tried nearly everything else. I’ve been using it for about a year now and it’s has made a great difference to my skin. Sadly the acne isn’t gone but it has reduced a little and my breakouts have also gone down. But my skin’s condition has improved greatly, it’s no longer blotchy or too oily or too dry all the time. The article said it would take the Cetaphil about a year to repair most of the damage done to my skin if harsh products were used. Well I’ve used nearly every product available to me and even went over a year with using straight peroxide to wash it. Ya, ouch...
I feel after a year of use Cetaphil has done well to improve and repair my skin’s condition and to reduce breakouts a little. I hope things continue to improve but if not I’ve decided on going to my doctor to see if there is anything else he can do to help.
