Pros Gentle, non-irritating, effective, leaves skin feeling clean and soft, not tight and dried out. Good for post-acne sufferers and those with sensitive skin. Smells very clean and fresh.
Cons Can help with, but does not eliminate acne lesions. Expensive.
Bottom line It's undeniably the best facial cleaner for people AFTER your major problems with acne have been solved. I found that many other facial cleaners were too harsh after my acne was gone, and actually made it just come back. This product will reduce minor acne, and makes your skin feel awesome, with no irritation or dryness. However, if you suffer from a sudden breakout of more severe acne, it will not be as effective. It is pricey, but worth it.

Pros very gentle, no fragrance, affordable
Cons not good for acne prone skin and/or oily skin
Bottom line I used Cetaphil cleanser for about 5 months before realizing that it was actually clogging my pores, making my skin oilier and not cleaning my skin well enough (and I don't even wear foundation!). However, my husband whose skin is perfect and who is on the drier side loves this stuff. It was just too heavy for me. After that, I tried Neutrogena Fresh foam face wash and that was too drying. Finally I switched to Purpose gentle face wash which works very well for me. It gives my skin its perfect balance. I checked "no" in the "recommended" area simply because most people visiting this site is acne prone and on the oily side and would probably not benefit from Cetaphil. However, it is a great product if you are lucky and blessed with good skin. Also do not forget to wear a high quality suncreen everyday year round as most of the skin problems are kinked to sun exposure.

Pros The smell isn't bad.
Cons The ingredient list scares me. Expensive for what it is.
Bottom line I was pestered into trying this product. It did not work (even slightly) for my skin type.
Kind of expensive too, for what it is.

Also, the ingredient list scares me. Years after trying Cetaphil, I am using a different product that has natural ingredients and it works for my skin.

I have a friend that swears this product works for her, but she also has very decent skin in the first place!

Pros After using product you instantly feel a smooth not-to-dry-but-still-clean finish.
Cons On the pricy side..but worth it
Bottom line I just love this stuff, iv been using it for a year now and iv never been so crazy about a facial wash before. Iv tried everything in the past, most either caused dryness or too much moisture.
Perfect balance!

Pros nothing at all
Cons Made my skin inflamed fast,to light of a cleanser, felt like water, cost way to much for no reason
Bottom line Bottom line is this stuff sucked i was better off doing what i did in the first place and that was a tip from a friend who washes her face with warm water and thats it. When I washed my face wit warm water it was cleaner than how it is now,and now i've wasted like 10 dollars on nothing. Very disappointed.

Pros very gentle. big bottle.
Cons too gentle. weird filmy feeling, even after wiping it off. too gentle. did nothing for my acne.
Bottom line It didn't do anything for me at all, but I recommended it to a friend who has very dry skin, and she's been using it ever since. Also, to those concerned about SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate), doing some research will show you that it is only hazardous if you put it in your eye, or ingest it (and even then, some candies contain SLS). So don't buy into all the stuff that "alternative" or "all natural" products claim. SLS isn't dangerous. It's meant to clean, and works at different concentrations for different things.

Pros Works very well for acne. Not to drying. Almost flawless...but...
Cons ...I get a nasty skin rash after drinking alcohol and in cold weather.
Bottom line -Ive used cetaphil for about a year now- on and off - mainly due to the fact its so damn good for acne. But about 3 months ago i started getting a severe rash on my face after drinking alcohol and if the weather got a bit chilly. Thinking it was something else (allergies, food, even drinking tea) i underwent trials to find out what it was, with no success. In a last ditch effort, i switched facewash- to clearasil would you believe + the effects went away. No kidding. I was fine. Ive tried cetaphil recently to see if it was a 'one off', but in two days and after one beer, there it was, again. Ive chased it up-cetaphil has a chemical called 'sodium lauryl sulphate' thats a well known abrasive-even strong clearasil products use the milder version 'sodium laurETH sulphate'. Im gutted to have to stop to using it+if ur ok, then dont let this put you off! But i thought it best to throw it out there in case anyone is experiencing the same thing!

Pros Gentle, leaves my skin feeling clean and soft.
Cons None!
Bottom line Check this out you guys!!! I found a walgreens version with EXACTLY the same ingredients as the cetaphil product, $5.99 but buy one get one free right now at walgreens. The lotion is also BOGO and $4.99 I think it was. I have been using these products in conjunction with a 2% BP gel by clean and clear (which I also got at walgreens) .75 oz for $4.99. This stuff is GREAT! No stinging or discomfort at all. It has aloe and chamomile in it so its super gentle on your skin and works awesome. I have been using this regimen for only 4 days and already my skin looks clearer, scars and red marks are going away, pimples that had started before treatment are getting smaller with every treatment. And this is RIGHT after my monthly cycle (I usually have the WORST breakouts right now.) NO new pimples have showed up at all.

Price shown below is all the products totaled up. I bought one extra BP tube so I could have one set at home and one set at my boyfriends house, so this price is for one se

Pros Smooth application feels good, does the job. Very gentle on the skin
Cons None really, its way better than all the foaming scrubs Ive used. Foaming scrubs seem obscene now that ive used cetaphil.
Bottom line Definitely worth it for a gentle acne face wash.
