Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser Reviews

My derm. told me to watch out for this product!This is the worst product out there. It worked for 3 days, then my face broke out like anything. My face stayed looking like that for about 2 weeks, and then my derm told me to never ever use it again because it is extremely bad for your facial skin. I am warning you, DONT take the risk and try this product! and this didnt just happen to me, my friend, who has different skin than me, (more greesy) tried it too. She had very very oily skin which cloged her poors very badly, it took her several weeks to rid the acne.

At FIRST, Cetaphil made my face feel dirty. BUT, I did something else. I completely detoxed my system (great for acne.) Acne products don't want to let the secrets out, because they are making money off selling acne products. Detoxing- I fasted for a day and a half, worked out strenuously, and drank SO much water. AND, took vitamins for 2 wks straihgt, eating everything right. Diet plays a huge part in this. You need to flush out yoiur system, drinking plenty water and detoxing (fasting for a day). Trust me. My acne disappeared. Oh- and you need to go in the sun too to process vitamin D. Take Centrum vitamins. THEN, after it disappeared, I started back up w/the Cetaphil. I would NOT recomment Cetaphil to people who are using makeup foundation or cover-up. Concealer is an exception. I always wear Cover Girl concealer, and I use Cetaphil. It works wonders. Men and women can both wear concealer. I recommend the dissimilator, neutralizer one ($5).

Another suggestion- do not scrub your face when using Cetaphil. I know it feels as though it does not "clean" your face. But, you need to detox your body out first. Trust me. I did this. During detox, use Irish Spring bar soap. I had dirt deep down in my pores. The oil would go away w/other cleansers, but then it would come back. SCRUB during detox. Not after. After a few days of scrubbing and detoxing w/water, THEN you can use Cetaphil w/out rubbing.

Smells good, gentle on skin, cleanses very well. This product you will not go wrong!

I've been using this product for about two weeks now. I decided to try it out becuase the benzaclin treatment I am using was drying my face out so bad that my acne wasn't getting any better. I have to say that at first I was terrified that this would break me out (especially coupled with the lotion), but it has done quite the opposite. I have very few active breakouts today -- but a ton of old scars and scabs (I'm a face picker) that have been healing quite nicely. I haven't been getting the cystic nodules anymore. I do get the occasional small pimple -- but those are much more welcome than the acne I was experiencing two weeks ago. The cleanser goes on kinda slimey -- but it's nice to know that it's moisturizing. I use it at night before I apply my benzaclin and then apply a good amount of the lotion. In the morning I just use the cleanser. So far I am really happy with this product.

I am currently on accutane and this cleanser works great! My face feels so clean afterwards and isn't too dry. I recomend it for everyone on accutane. Check your dermatoligist's office for free samples of it. I just get a new little free sample bottle each time I go to the dermi which is once a month!

I hate this cleanser. It feels greasy on the skin

I have dry sensitive acne prone skin and this cleanser made my face even worst.

Cetaphil was ok for my skin because it is gentle and has no fragrance. This product is tested on animals so I buy the generic walgreens version which is identical and cheaper

This product is great. My mom, my sister and I all use it. At first i didnt really like it because i felt that it didn't really clean my face, but now that im using some topical medicine i need Cetaphil because other stuff just overdries my skin. This is really great. I know tons of people who use it too. Its really great.

I use Cetaphil twice a day. I think it is a fantastic cleanser because your skin does not feel irritated afterwards. It is very gentle yet very effective. It really balances the oil levels and I would recommend it to anyone.
