it is kind of expensive but if you get the generic wal-mart/greens kind then it is way cheaper. I love it and use religously w/o irritation

The reason why you may be experiencing breakouts while using Cetaphil is because this particular Cetaphil (w/ royal blue packaging) is intended for people with DRY and SENSITIVE skin. Not for people with acne-prone and oily skin. I've tried this Cetaphil and it felt like I was washing my face with plain old water and I had the same experience, breaking out, unclean skin..all that stuff. But! I tried the Cetaphil for OILY, COMBINATION, and ACNE-PRONE skin and it works wonderfully. This comes in a slightly lighter, greener blue kind of package. And YES it does feel like you've actually washed your face after you use it!

I tried this cleanser and I have to say I am not impressed. Yes, it is gentle. However, I don't think it fully cleans your skin. Since it doesn't fully clean your skin, pores remain clogged and this can cause breakouts.

I used this morning and evening for 2 weeks (the only change in my routine was this cleanser) and experienced the worst breakout in years and it has taken almost a month to recover.

I switched back to Cetaphil Daily Cleanser which does a much better job of cleaning the skin and being gentle at the same time. Sure the daily cleanser is a bit stronger and might cause some dryness but at least it CLEANS THE SKIN and PORES.

AVOID. I am now using this cleanser to wash my hands since I don't know what else to do with it. Get the Cetaphil Daily Cleanser instead. A much better product.

Maybe the only people who should use this product are those who are currently taking ACCUTANE.

I like how the product is unscented, the packaging is easy to use, and it is fairly affordable; however, I have seen little to no improvement in my skin. In fact, I think my acne has gotten worse. I am one of those who has the dry, sensitive, moderately acne-prone skin that Cetaphil is recommended for and I fail to see its full benefits that it promises. Any suggestions?

I am using this while taking Accutane/isotretinoin and it is the ONLY thing I can cleanse my face with, as it is so gentle. I haven't particularly liked it otherwise when I've tried it in the past, as it hasn't made my skin feel "clean" enough; it hasn't felt as though it was dissolving everything that was on my skin. It is not very good at removing mascara, so I use a makeup remover to do that before I use the Cetaphil.

I can't tell you just how gentle this stuff is! It is just perfect for irritated, dry, or "raw" skin.

This product is also very, very good for mixing with a little baking soda to make a "dermabrasion" solution to exfoliate with a few times a week, or more often if your skin can handle it.

I hate this cleanser. Everytime I use it, I end up with more pimples. Now I finally understand why: this cleanser may leave your skin feeling nice and soft but it doesn't remove makeup. So all the dirt from the make-up stays on my skin and clogs it up. so maybe this works for people who don't wear make-up but for those of us who do:

STAY AWAY!

If you have a dry, sensitive skin this cleanser is good for you. However, if you suffer from oily skin as most acne sufferers, I think this cleanser is hardly effective. Despite using handful of this rather pricey stuff, my skin still feels oily. I think it's very ineffective in removing oil and dirt. Finally, at ~$7 for a 6 OZ. bottle, this cleanser is WAY overpriced. It's a mixture of 8 very common ingredients like water,Cetyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate etc; so why is it SO expensive? If you wanna try it, I suggest you try the generic version first and see whether it suits your purpose.
