Pros Gentle clenser, leaves skin feeling soft
Cons NONE
Bottom line I love this clenser. It doesn't irritate my sensative skin. Leaves skin feeling soft. It does not help ace. Although my acne is severe I did not buy this thinking it would help. My skin is overly dry and this does not make it worse?

Pros Doesn't dry, doesn't clog pores, cleans skin
Cons Doesn't treat or prevent acne
Bottom line Cetaphil is a good product for oily, dry, or combination skin, but it doesn't help to heal acne; it just cleans your skin.

Pros Gentle, Affordable, Easily Purchased at any Store and Scentless, Great for everday routine.
Cons Might be too Light for Severe Acne, Must be Used Consistantly Doesn't Remove MakeUp, does not unplugged pores.
Bottom line Cetaphil is a VERY light cleanser that doesn't foam up or give you that deep scrub. However, it's a really great everyday face wash that leaves your skin clean and soft. Best to use it twice a day (morning and night) with additional products such as a scrub (once a week), toner and/or moisturizer. It probably wouldn't work well on its own with severe acne.

However, I've used many other types of face wash (from high end to drug store) and I this has certainly approve my skin (less blotchy and dry). The key is to to be consistant with your routine.

Pros SUPER gentle but still cleans, softens skin, fragrance free, calms skin and reduces redness compared to medicated washes
Cons could be cheaper, but it is a great product
Bottom line FALSE MYTH: if you have anything above light acne, you need a medicated cleanser.

TRUTH: Be gentle, even with higher levels of acne! Double medicating, or using a medicated "acne cleanser" and another topical treatment like BP or spot treatment only made my skin look worse by causing redness and irritation. It took me a long time to realize this after jumping from medicated cleanser to medicated cleanser! After switching to Cetaphil my irritation and redness has gone way down, and I depend on a Benzoyl Peroxide cream to treat the acne areas.

ALSO, CAUTION WITH THE CETAPHIL GENERICS: Being a cheapskate, I tried to save $ with a TARGET's generic brand, but it stung my face, and I am back on the name brand. Other generics might not do this, but remember, TARGET STINGS!

Pros Very Gentle, no irritation. Easy to use and can find the product anywhere.
Cons None
Bottom line I am 38 and have used the product for 20 years. A friend, who had clear skin, recommended it to me. I didn't believe this gentle product would keep my face clear, but it has. I was plagued with acne in my teens and wish I had known about Cetaphil before. My 13 year old son, who has had acne for about a year, started using it last week and his face is almost completely clear. I didn't realize that the typical acne cleanser was causing the irritation and acne. He had been using the Neutrogena On the Spot for a year, because it is the least strong benzoyl peroxide product out there. Thumbs up for Cetaphil!!! I do use store brands also and have found them just as good...
