| Pros | - very gentle - softens skin - does not dry skin out |
|---|---|
| Cons | - does not remove all of make up |
| Bottom line | For many years I used only medicated cleansers (usually with salicylic acid). I started using Cetaphil a couple of months ago when I had a nasty flare up and started the regimen. As my skin cleared up I started to really notice that my skin felt softer than it had in a long, long time. I tried Cetaphil's formula for oily skin and it dried my skin out. As soon as I switched back my soft skin came back too! Love it! |

| Pros | Light consitency, extremely gentle, effectively removes dirt and oil, does not leave skin dry, great for skin prone to acne. |
|---|---|
| Cons | A possible allergic reaction, otherwise none. |
| Bottom line | I am amazed by this product! I have tried many cleansers that claim to be "for sensitive skin" or "non-drying," but I consistantly found their claims were not in fact true. I have very sensitive skin and bad acne in some areas, so I needed a cleanser that could gently remove dirt, makeup, and oil, yet not take moisture out of my skin or cause breakouts. I've found one! Cetaphil works wonders on my skin. Just as a warning, however, I have heard some people react to it with a rash, so be sure to check the ingredients for substances you are allergic to. Also, in terms of price, I see most people rated it as a 5, but I'm putting 4, because there ARE cheaper cleansers. If affordability means if it's worth it's price, I would definitely put a 5, though! |

| Pros | Very gentle cleanser that doesn't irritate, pleasant smell that doesn't overwhelm, smooth consistency, takes off the tinted moisturizer I use, and nondrying. |
|---|---|
| Cons | For me, none. |
| Bottom line | This is a wonderful cleanser for sensitive, dry skin (which I have). I can't imagine it being bad for anyone. It also significantly improved my skin. Much of my acne, which I had previously ascertained was from irritation, vanished. I now have two to three very small pimples, which are most likely due to my hair products. I also have no more flakies. If you have dry skin, you know how valuable that is. I use this in conjunction with 2% BP on spots (only a few times a week or the surrounding skin goes to flake-land). |

| Pros | It's affordable, has no fragrance, easy to use. |
|---|---|
| Cons | - Contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a known irritant - It irritated and dried out my skin even more(I have dry skin) - Acne got worse |
| Bottom line | I was one of the unlucky ones, I guess. Try it out for a week or so to see if your skin reacts badly to it. My skin started getting worse approx. 1 month after using this product. Before that, there wasn't much change at all. I ditched this for Olay Moisture-Balancing Foaming Facewash and it works much better [for me]. |

| Pros | Gentle, fragrance free, soothes irritated skin and won't cause over drying. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Not available in many high street stores in the UK. |
| Bottom line | I have tried various topical medications for persistent adult acne, most of which irritate my sensitive skin and exasperate the problem. Cetaphil products are perfectly suited to dry & sensitive skin and allow better natural moisture retention than other products. My skin is the best it has been in many years, since discovering Cetaphil. |

| Pros | Doesn't dry skin, leaves my skin feeling clean, very gentle |
|---|---|
| Cons | none |
| Bottom line | It really helps when used with benzoyl peroxide! I have SUPER sensitive skin and even using the lowest amount of BP dries it out. This cleanser used with a mild mosturizer keeps my skin soft, not dry, and not oily. I love it! My dad has also been using it for 10 years and rarely gets break outs. I recommend it!! |

| Pros | Cleared up my acne! I had moderate acne and proactiv was not working for me. I stopped using proactiv after I was advised to stop on account of the scrub beads in the face wash. I tried cetaphil and it cleared up my skin and made it soft. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Doesn't get rid of acne scars. |
| Bottom line | Using a gentle cleanser has really improved my skin. I also apply micro-treninoin retin-A gel a couple times a week, but I think that the cetaphil really did the trick. Sometimes really harsh products or scrubs can worsen acne. That's why you should experiment and try using cetaphil. I had moderate acne and my skin looked all red and had pustules. It was awful. Now my skin looks incredibly better in just a couple weeks. I also stopped using a moisturizer and just wash my face with cetaphil and then put some cetaphil on my dry face as a moisturizer. It really does work as a moisturizer too without breaking out my skin! Try this. |
