Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar Reviews

I bought this because it was recommended on here and never really thought about it or researched it because of that. When I went to the store and saw that it was $6 I still went ahead and bought it and I regret it. PROS: 1. Lathers well 2. No smell 3. Gentle 4. Cleans ok-ish CONS: 1. Price is insane for one bar of soap 2. Leaves a soap film on my face which is impossible to wash off with just water so I end up using a toner after it 3. Makes my skin feel dry and very uncomfortably tight afterwards. Before I started the CSR all I was doing was washing my face with water and sometimes a cheap Irish Spring soap bar and it never left my skin tight or dry, just clean and normal. I would not recommend this or buy it again unless it was on for a crazy price so I could use the $1 off coupon that came with it.

No other soap for the face seems to lather up as well as this bar does. As the Clear Skin Regime recommends, it's better for men to shave with the lather of a good face soap than use regular shaving cream or liquid cleansers, and this is where the Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar excels. The generous lather (rub the bar vigorously between very wet hands!) is extremely lubricating and will leave you with a very close and smooth shave. Yes, after you've finished shaving and dried your face you'll notice some tightness and drying, but that's gonna happen with almost *any* face soap (and certainly with each of the soaps the regime recommends). But that's why it's so important to follow the steps of the regimen so closely--the last step, using a good moisturizer, is absolutely critical; of *course* your face will feel dry if you wash it and don't put on moisturizer eventually. Yes, I do wish this didn't have fragrance at all, but I will say the fragrance is extremely light and much less potent than the fragrance in the Cetaphil Antibacterial Bar or the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser liquid. Guys especially, give this a shot!

I loved this soap didn't leave my face dry at all and thought it somewhat helped with my red spots on my face. only downside is i don't think the price is worth the time it last you so i'm going back to the purpose bar but i will still get cetaphil every now and then

It's such a mess to use. It leaves so much gunk in the soap dish. I use it with a facial brush to exfoliate. Leaves me a little dry afterwards, though.

This was super gentle and didn't dry my face out at all - that was good. But it left my face feeling like it had a film on it and I wouldn't say it's meant to clear up acne just cleanse your face.

It lathers great for me, I love that about it. It's my favorite face wash and I think everyone should try it and see what it has to offer them (obviously it won't work for everyone).

My favourite bar soap! This stuff moisturizes your face, and it even takes the excess oils away from those with really oily skin (like me). It's very gentle on my face, has no stench, and it's affordable. Definitely try this one if you haven't yet.
