| Pros | light weight, moisturizing, unscented, gentle, doesn't break-out skin, absorbs quickly |
|---|---|
| Cons | giant bottle, slight initial burning sensation |
| Bottom line | I love this lotion for my dry, acne prone skin. I tried the Cetaphil lotion, which I heard was gentle. However, it felt like my skin couldn't breathe when I put it on. It didn't absorb very well, and my skin was super oily for the entire day after application. Frustrated, I picked up a bottle of CeraVe lotion to replace the Cetaphil, thinking I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! It makes my skin feel super moisturized without leaving it greasy. It didn't break me out at all and used in conjunction with the CeraVe cleanser, my skin returned to a youthful and glowing state. My dry patches went away, as did the weird patches of non-acne bumps on my forehead. Like I said on my CeraVe cleanser review, I only wish that this lotion came in a more travel friendly bottle instead of a giant 12oz. bottle! For traveling, I plan on pumping a small quantity into a travel-sized bottle...so I guess it works out lol. Besides being dry and acne prone, my skin is also a bit sensitive. Not SUPER sensitive, but sensitive enough that certain products make my skin burn. The first few times I used this lotion, I did notice a very slight burning sensation. Not unpleasant, but enough that I noticed. When my father (who has extremely sensitive, red skin) tried this lotion, he complained that it burned. Not terribly, but enough that he mentioned it. I would suggest giving this lotion a try even if there is an initial *slight* burning sensation. It goes away after a few uses. Overall: try it! |

| Pros | moisturizing light absorbs well |
|---|---|
| Cons | caused many small whites heads after a week and a half of use |
| Bottom line | I'm surprised this works for so many people. I started using based on the reviews. After I stopped using it, the whiteheads stopped forming. This lotion feels so nice though so I'm going to use it on my legs. |

| Pros | Great deal, how much product you get for the price Convenient pump bottle |
|---|---|
| Cons | Makes me break out Doesn't moisturize well, just sits on top of my skin sort of like a greasy film On the 1st use this really irritated my skin, burned and itched, allergic reaction maybe? Felt oily |
| Bottom line | Honestly, I really did want to like this. A lot of reviewers with sensitive and acne prone skin gave this high ratings, and having that same skin type I was hopeful this would be the end-all-be-all moisturizer. I tried this multiple times, and every time it was a disaster. The first time I used it I think I had an allergic reaction, but I still persisted. After that it just felt greasy and broke me out. It never really 'absorbed' into my skin and felt unpleasant, by the end of the day I couldn't wait to wash this off. It also didn't moisturize well. I had high hopes for this product because I too have trouble finding moisturizers that don't irritate my skin or make me break out. And pleaseeeee don't rate me down for this, I notice that whenever someone gives a bad rating for a product a lot of people like they get a bunch of thumbs down. I don't know why. I just wanted to share my experience with this moisturizer, I'm not saying this will break everyone out, I say still try it. Bottom line, I have really sensitive skin and this irritated my skin badly. |

| Pros | Moisturizing, non-scented, no breakouts. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Nothing. Stuff is amazing. |
| Bottom line | This was recommended to me by a famous dermatologist that treats my acne. He didn't sell me anything from his own line of products after I complained about dryness from the Retinol treatments I was on. I'd never heard of Cerave, but I gave it a whirl. It moisturizes without leaving any film, tackiness, scent, or clogging pours. It's light but moisturizes like a heavier cream would. I use it on my hands because I hate hand cream residue. Right now I'm using it with Kiehl's Blue acne lotion because it's drying. Together, they work wonderfully and it's making it easier for me to stay on the acne treatment. |

| Pros | -moisturizes well |
|---|---|
| Cons | -MADE ME BREAK OUT -stung -left my skin feeling weird and stinging all day |
| Bottom line | I have VERY delicate, sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin. So my dermo gave me this stuff to use for my BenzaClin (which btw, dried my skin out completely) and i did. At first, it didn't sting at all, moisturized really well, and got rid of my crustyness. I thought it was perfect. Then after a week or so, it: -started stinging -left my skin feeling sun-burned -made me more crusty and oily -and gave me PIN-SIZED WHITEHEADS all around my chin and forehead- about 50 of them! It was disgusting! Now I will never, ever use a product unless it says oil-free. Bottom line: DON'T USE IF: -your skin is naturally oily -your skin is delicate -you're prone to keratosis(which I have) or eczema(it's a sign of allergies and sensitive skin) I would ONLY recommend to people with extremely NATURALLY dry skin(not dry b/c of a medication). Believe me, I know what I'm talking about. I've had skin issues all my life and see a dermo monthly. And btw, if you have skin like mine, i recommend Neotrogena Sensitive Skin Oil-free moisturizer. Hope I helped. (NOTE: this is my honest opinion from experimentation, and I have weird skin) |
