Pros: i was on it when i had a staph infection and my skin seemed really clear. & i'm back on it now for acne... i really hope it works & stays working! Pros: Cheap and it WORKS!!! Just as good as Minocycline. If minocycline doesn't work for you try this one! Cons: May cause stomach aches and bad diarrhea. Bottom Line: The brand name is called Duricef. I love this antibiotic! It works! I've been using it for 2 months and I'm pretty clear! Pros: I didn't have any side effects. Cons: It is stinky, but I can put up with it! Bottom Line: I have been on this for 2 weeks, and I've seen quite an improvement. I have also been using Klaron (topical) for 1 week, for which I think the combination has been very effective. Only a couple big ones, and they seem to go away within a couple of days. I would definitely recommend the Klaron, too. But, I had to ask my doctor for it. I had read so many good reviews so I'm glad I gave it a try!! Pros: Cheap and easy to use. Clearing up some of my pimples and skin seems less oily. Cons: Still have alot of cystic acne. Upset stomach, headache, and fatigue. Bottom Line: Needs to be used consistently and for a little while longer before I can give a better opinion! Recommended: Yes Usage: Angela has used this item for about a week. Pros: I didn't have any side effects like diarrhea or yeast infections, both possibilities with this drug, since I used probiotics and ate yogurt daily. Cheap with my insurance - I only paid $1.15 for 30 day supply. Cons: Did nothing for my moderate, non-cystic breakouts. I used for 6 weeks. Bottom Line: It didn't work for me, but if you aren't having success with other antibiotics give it a try since there aren't any side effect if you use with probiotics. Pros: *does help improve skin a little *does not affect your stomach Cons: *threat of yeast infections *meant to treat other illness or infections - NOT skin Bottom Line: I was prescribed this for 10 days after I burned my face to prevent infection. My skin was fairly clear prior to taking this (from being on doxycyclin), but I think it did maintain and improve my skin a bit. I didn't stay on it for fear of getting a yeast infection. Overall, I would advise getting something else (like doxycyclin), which is meant to treat acne. There are too many risks in taking cephalexin for extended periods of time for acne. Pros: I haven't broken out in a little under a month Cons: It took a few weeks to really start working Bottom Line: This pill is easy to take and really works. People complain it smells bad but come on, you don't have to stick your nose in the thing all day it takes two seconds to swallow. Pros: There is no pros. Cons: I've taking this antibiotic 500 mg and 3 times a day. Actually it made it worse than before!I used to have cystic acne on my forehead only and after taking this antibiotic, it created more and more cystic acne on my cheek and nose Bottom Line: Do not take this antibiotic, it is NOT for acne. Pros: I use it along with a bunch of other things, but it does work really well from what i can tell.. try taking a zinc supplement, it also works great, research it =) Cons: it does have a pretty bad smell, but its bearable Bottom Line: try it for 2 months, it wont hurt. Pros: So easy to just take a pill. cleared up face in just a few days Bottom Line: Yeah i was initionally on it for a rash - Impetigo... but while I was on it along with clearing the rash up it completelygot rid of my acne.
