Recently we’ve had a few members let us know that the new moisturizer is leaving a yellow hue on their white collars.  I have never noticed this myself, so thanks for the feedback. Both Acne.org Moisturizer and AHA+ contain an efficacious amount of licochalcone.  This means they are great at soothing and calming the skin, but this also means the products are bright yellow in color.

Once given about 30 seconds to absorb into the skin and dry they will not stain.  So, to avoid staining your collars, consider letting the products absorb before dressing. If you are already dressed when applying, take extra care to avoid light colored collars.

Yes, great point by Dan. It’s important to let moisturizer dry thoroughly before putting on makeup or dressing. I am guilty of this as well. Even with the old formula, I often didn’t let it dry thoroughly. Too impatient. Nothing as disgusting as applying makeup foundation over damp moisturizer!

Here in the U.S. impatience is our middle name. And speaking of impatience, how many times have I read on this board that the regimen doesn’t work, because they’ve used it faithfully for three weeks and they’re still breaking out! Folks, I had severe acne, and it took me 6 months to get totally clear. I had patience and I knew it would work. It did.

    Same goes for the moisturizer.

If I use two pumps, it takes way more than 30 seconds to absorb. It takes more like 30 minutes to fully absorb. I don’t know if I have weird skin or what, but it seems to take forever for my skin to absorb the moisturizer! Not trying to say I don’t like the moisturizer. It’s very effective and definitely calms and moisturizes my skin after applying BP.

In the morning, I do the regimen and after puting on moisturizer I start with my eye makeup and lips first. That usually gives enough time for my face to dry, before putting on mineral foundation.

I’m in the same boat as tiggeriffic….as much as I am in LOVE with the regimen and the moisturizer, it takes a really long time to fully absorb into my skin.

Dan… why did you have to go and make new pumps? :X

The old pumps were fine the way they were. If you had problems with them popping open during shipping, you could’ve just made a simple screw-on cap to ship on the bottles, with the pumps themselves on the side in a little bag or wrapped to the side of the bottles.

Now, the new bigger headed pumps dont dispense the same amount of product as the old pumps did, and I have to fiddle fart around with measuring spoons to try and figure out how many pumps of this new pump I should use for my BP!

The mosturizer never absorbs completely for me, and my light pillowcase is yellowish aswell, and Im too shiney, I end up putting some cleanser on before I leave the house so I dont shine.

Well after reading all these posts, I KNOW folks are too impatient.

Some moisturizers take a while to dry. That’s just the way it is. I’ve learned to do other things while it drys: fold laundry, make a cup of coffee, etc. I’ve tried other brands that take long to dry too, but they’re not nearly as wonderful as Dan’s current moisturizer (and no, I’m not a friend or relative – I just love the products).

It’s worth it. I hope Dan isn’t discouraged with these posts. The latest moisturizer with licorice extract is the most calming, soothing moisturizer. Even if it takes several minutes to dry…just do something else in the meantime. Isn’t it worth it????? We waste hours in front of the tv. Yeah, watch some tv and let your moisturizer dry well!

@joyce I didn’t mean my comment as a complaint. In the morning, I go feed my cats and eat my breakfast while it dries. At night, I usually just go ahead and go to sleep while it dries; I just make sure to fall asleep on my back.

I find the moisturizer to be very calming, soothing and moisturizing. I was just observing that, at least for me, it takes more than 30 seconds to absorb. It makes me feel better to hear that it’s true for others as well. And YES, it’s definitely worth it!

    @Joyce

Im still too shiney in the morning after doing everything in the evening before.

But its the only downside to an otherwise excellent product, that and the tanning effect.

  • Danny

Is the older moisturizer available anywhere? It used to work great and now my skin is completely dried and flaky using the new yellow one!

  • J

i agree! i loved the old moisturizer. i’m glad the aha has plenty of lichochalcone, but the moisturizer was fine the way it was- simple. trying to get too fancy with the basics screws up a perfectly good system. please go back to the old moisturizer! even if i let the new moisturizer dry, it yellows clothes when i sweat, and it’s a much worse consistency than the old one. plus, i want a moisturizer with few, simple ingredients that simply moisturize. isn’t that the heart of the regimen? that, at its core 3 ingredients, it is simple, basic, and easy to use? complications are unnecessary for this already complicated skin issue.

Hey Dan !!! I have a question it’s 1 week I’m on the regimen , and I’m freaking out my face looks red and the creams burns my face !!!…. People have been asking me if I’ve been doing fake tanning …. Does this go away ?????

  • Ahreum

I just ordered the new moisturizer without thinking that it was new and it was not a pleasant surprise….
I really really really liked the old moisturizer. I think it’s great to have some new products but really wish that they would have the old simple moisturizer available. Maybe you can sell both so that we can each decide to get which ever we prefer. Please do consider putting the old moisturizer back on the market.
    Thank you!

    Dan,
You should consider making a leak-proof lid for the jojoba oil. Both times I have ordered it it leaks and all the other products are saturated as well as the box they are packed in. Extremely frustrated.
