I know that some of you guys, especially those of you from Canada, like to use Spectro products, so I ordered the entire line of Spectro products to test them. I want to make sure I feel comfortable with people using them on the Regimen. I have done 3-day trials on to two of Spectro’s cleansers so far. Both cleansers are extremely similar and the ingredient decks have many of the same ingredients. I could not notice much of a difference between them, so I will review them together:

Spectro Derm Moisturizing Skin Cleanser for Dry, Sensitive Skin and Spectro Jel for Blemish-Prone Skin: Both are gentle, nice cleansers. Neither product lathers, so they won’t be good for shaving, but for just a simple wash, they did the job fine. I found that the thick consistency made it slightly harder to remain gentle during washing, and I had to use quite a bit of cleanser to simply cover my face. Having said that, I would feel comfortable with people using these cleansers, as long as they take extra care to remain gentle. They are non-overdrying and I like the ingredients just fine. I’ll add them to the list of approved cleansers.

I live in Canada and switch back and forth between the Acne.org cleanser and spectro’s. They both are amazing and it would be hard to say which I prefer, but my skin does seem to take a liking to spectro’s cleanser when its dry outside. Other than that stick with what works for you, but if you live in an area where spectro is sold and run out of your normal cleanser it would be great for a backup.

I live in Canada and recently came across your website. I went to my local drug store to buy the Neutrogena On The Spot BP. They did not have any in stock, but they did have Spectro AcneCare Vanishing Lotion for Sensitive Skin, which contains 2.5% BP. I am starting my son on the regime, and will use the Spectro BP. Canadians may have the choice of either the Neutrogena or the Spectro for 2.5% benzoyl peroxide.

Non medicinal ingredients include the following: (alpha) Acrylates Copolymer; Carbomer 940; Citric Acid; Diazolidinyl Urea; Dimethicone; Dioctyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate; Disodium EDTA; Glycerin; Propylene Glycol; Silica; Sodium Citrate; Sodium Hydroxide; Water; Xanthan Gum.

Once I find the Neutrogena On The Spot then I can compare the non-medicinal ingredients, but if the Spectro doesn’t have anything ‘bad’ in it then Canadians have a option that includes a gel BP.
