Sun Week - Final Day - Hats
My SPF of choice is just a wide brimmed hat. I like hats because they physically block the sun, and block it at 100%. Plus, I’m not putting extra ingredients on my skin this way. If you decide to use hats, just be aware that they can irritate the forehead area. Doing the Regimen up there should help you stay clear even if you use a hat.

True a hat is a very effective way to prevent sun damage, but you have to be sure that the hat you are wearing IS actually 100% blocking the sun. For example, and what looks like Dan is wearing in the video, is straw hat. Straw hats usually have a weaving pattern that has small openings in the design which UV rays can go through and on your skin. Sun damage leads to hyper pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and of course and most importantly, skin cancer. A hat is a wonderful ADDITION to SPF. There are SPFs out there that DO NOT clog pores and cause break outs. Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide are 2 natural ones that can be found in many products including Jane Iredale cosmetics and Clear Choice by Dermastart.

If it brakes you out because it irritates your skin, adding Bp would only make it worst lol

Umm…Bryan. BP prevents acne and breakouts, and doesn’t irritate your skin if you are using it right. So how would it make it worse?

Dan, I was wondering if you would suggest anything to reduce redness from the face such as toothpaste, lemon juice, etc… and if so, how would I incorporate it with the regimen?

heya dan! still looking for suggestions for SPF to use in the beach or pool (ie. waterproof). I went to Wal-mart today and almost ALL of their waterproof suncsreen contained avobenzone. The ONLY waterproof SPF that I could find was Neutrogena’s “pure & free baby sunblock lotion.” it’s Spf 60, contains only zinc and titanium dioxide and NO avobenzone. It’s very expensive for a small amount, so I will only be using this on my face. Unfortuantely, I have to use an SPF with avobenzone on my body (can’t find anything else!) any help would be great! thanks dan!

Chase, BP might not irritate YOUR skin, but it does to mine and a lot of people. Even the product warnings itself says to discontinue use if you get irritated, and Dan is saying to apply BP to an irritated area.
