  2. Thanks for the update Dan!!! :) Aww… you sound a little sad though in this video, but that’s understandable. It really sounds like you are trying to make the best spf moisturizer out, so that’s the important part. You always come out with wonderful acne and skin care products, so I’m sure this product will be no different! Keep up the hard work, because I’m sure it will definitely pay off!!!

  3. Dan, I really appreciate you trying your best to make a good product. I am so excited for your SPF moisturizer to come out! I’m a little bummed out though because I have to use the stupid Olay one for this summer, but I’ll try my best to be patient. Your products are very high quality. Please keep us updated. Thanks!

  6. Well, he’s just giving a update on the spf and what’s going on with it. ^^^He’s not stringing people along and leaving them in the dark, so they won’t be mislead or uninformed. He’s trying to come out with the best product possible, and that’s admirable.

  7. What is point in making SPF 15 and SPF30? Why not go with 30 only if it offers better protection? Is it because SPF 30 has a downside to it that people may want less protection from SPF15?

  10. Hi, for the next video where you address the video responses, can you please talk about exfoliation? There is chemical exfoliation with your AHA and BHA but what about manual exfoliation? I just got this Duo Detox set from MD Skincare and used its scrub once and loved it. I also got the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator and it said to use it 3x per week. Would manual exfoliation help or hurt with acne? How many times should one manually exfoliate?

  11. Thanks Dan for all your time and energy. I always thought that zinc oxide is a thicker more occlusive, physical sunblock that can be potentially pore clogging according to Paula Begoun. I was lead to believe that avobenzone was the choice for pore-clogging skin. It may be a little greasier, which can pose another problem, but it does NOT go on white which is a plus! If there is a way to make a avobenzone spf daily moisturizer that can be mattifying YET combat dryess, that would be great. Paula’s Choice has a Daily Mattifying Moisturizer spf 15…which is ok…it goes on matte..almost too matte… no white cast…but ends up getting alittle too shiny as the day goes on,…but its the closest thing I found to being perfect for right now. How do u feel about avobenzone vs. zinc oxide? Good luck with your formulation!

  12. Hey Dan. I know that I’ve been one of the main people pestering you, asking if it would be ready by the summer. Thanks for your response. Although I’m disappointed that it won’t be ready for the summer (like you), I very much appreciate your dedication to creating the absolute best product possible. I believe that is what sets you apart from everyone else. The quality of your products is unbelievable. Keep up the hard work on the SPF. My main suggestion would be to make sure the it doesn’t go on to the skin too white. That is an issue for me with Oil of Olay. I’m also a big fan of SPF 15, and I’m glad that it sounds like you will have that available.

Thanks for everything. Give us an update if anything big happens!

  13. Hi Dan,
I’ve been following your SPF development because like you, I break out with a million tiny red bumps using Avobenzone-containing SPFs. Have you tried Keys Solar Rx SPF 30+? I hope I’m not speaking too soon here, but I’m so excited about it!!
I’ve been using it for about a week now and I really like it. It hasn’t broken me out. It’s not oily, not shiny, and does not leave a white cast on my face. Women who wear mineral makeup will like it because it has the feel of a primer. You will like it because it is Zinc Oxide based. It contains a whopping 18% zinc oxide!
The Environmental Working Group rated it the safest sunscreen in the market, so those who are concerned about safety of ingredients can take some comfort in that. Some people worry about the safety of nano-sized particles in cosmetics, but so far it looks like the scare is not supported by scientific evidence. I was on the fence regarding the issue of nano particles for a few days myself, but in the end, I decided I really need a sunscreen that I can use everyday without irritating, shining, or whitening my face, and that the risk of not having sun protection outweighs the alleged risk in nano-sized particles.
This is the best I’ve tried so far. If you haven’t tried it, it may be worth a shot. Who knows? You may find that nano-sized zinc oxide is the “missing link” in your own SPF formulation.

    All the best,
    Liz

  14. Olay Complete is my favorite SPF moisturizer too! :) I usually mix it with some jojoba oil, and it’s perfecto. And I like your PEZ collection. I kept looking at Homer and Marge over your shoulder.
